    The aim of this article is a report of our therapeutical success of different antimicrobial treatments against Helicobacter pylori (HP) in patients with upper GI illneses caused by HP in the period ... from 1990 to 1996. In this six year period we included 432 HP positive patients with duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, non-ulcer dyspepsia and maltoma. The existence of HP infection was proved with rapid urease test from antral biopsy (Yatrox Rhöm Pharma, BRD or home made rapid urease test) and at least two histological biopsies from antrum, stained with hematoxylin- eosin (HE), Warthin Starry (WS) or Giemsa stain. In the period from 1990 to 1993 we took additional two biopsies from corpus (HE, WS) and one biopsy from antrum for HP culture. The eradication success was assesed at least one month after the end of antimicrobial therapy or at least one month after the end of additional PPI treatment.At the control endoscopy we took at least two biopsies from antrum (HE, Giemsa) and additional two biopsies from corpus (HE, WS) and a biopsy from antrum for HP culture in patients included in prospective trials. ...
