    Until now, there has been no reliable information about the presence of hamster (Cricetus cricetus) in the territory of Slovenia. In May 1980 there were found two hamsters in the vicinity of the ... village Obrež, situated alongside the road Ormož - Središče ob Dravi. The population is very localized, bordered by the hills Slovenske Gorice on one side and by the Drava river on the other. The population, being located on the extreme edge ofthe area, might be seriously affected, if not completely exterminated, by an international rooting out
