  • Topology of generalized 3-manifolds with 0-dimensional singular set

    We review the status of J. W. Cannon's concerning the recognition of topological manifolds. It was confirmed for higher dimensional manifolds ▫$(n\geq 5)$▫ by R. D. Edwards and F. Quinn. We study two ... general position properties - Dehn lemma property and the map separation property (due to H. W. Lambert and R. B. Sher) and we show that each of them can replace Cannon's disjoint disks property on the class of compact generalized 3-manifolds with 0-dimensional singular set, modulo the Poincaré conjecture.
