    Demographic data and data on the availability of capacity in the care facilities for the elderly in Slovenia indicate the need to change the organisation of this segment of care. The paper focused on ... the analysis and evaluation of the age-friendly design and management of urban green spaces and services of general interest in small towns with regard to the needs of older people who spend their old age in care facilities. At the same time, we have estimated the potential for the actual use of urban green spaces by this population. It is noted that in Slovenia fundamental changes are needed in the area of institutional care for the elderly, including in the management, provision and use of urban green spaces in care institutions.
