  • ECDSA - Alternativa DSA pri digitalnem podpisovanju
Hölbl, Marko ; Brumen, Boštjan ; Welzer-Družovec, Tatjana
In today's IT Society, there are more and more services supported by IT technology. One of the services supported is digital signing of document and messages. Techniques and algorithms have been ... developed to enable digital signing to be equivalent to classical signing. This article focuses on one of the algorithms used in digital signing - the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). The algorithm can be considered as an alternative to the Digital Signature Algorithm (OSA), which is the most important algorithm used today for digital signing. ECDSA is an algorithm which is based on elliptic curves. As we present the algorithm, we take one of the subgroups of elliptic curves elliptic curves defined over the finite field Y-". First, we give an overview of the basics of elliptic cl1rves over finite field Y-". Second, we examine the ECOSA algorithm in detail. Then, we give a short comparison to the DSA algorithm concerning the differences in the algorithm itself and differences in the security level (with regards to the key length). That is why we also compare the key length of OSA and ECDSA and list a discovered weakness in the algorithm. In the end a conclusion is made.
