  • Location analysis of the retail and real estate databases : case in Slovenia

    The location analysis of retail shops in Republic of Slovenia (RS) is presented. The analysis was performed on two lewels, using GIS tools. At the local level, a test for differences in opportunities ... for shops in the zones for four of the biggest towns in RS was performed. The groups of the settlements and the zones for the estimation of building ground prices are legally adopted in the privatisation legislation. They were expected to be the result of the land use opportunities. The rank of the settlements was found correct, but the rank of the zones for the building ground prices has not been determined properly by lawgiver. For better decisions and better estimation of spatial opportunities, the computer assisted data on real estate - especially data on their users - are necessary. Surveying real estate database and their usefulness for studies of location characteristics in Slovenia are presented
