    This article presents the possibility of the actual optimisation of structures, which is in the balancing of the safety as well as economy demands. The developed calculation method and elaborated ... software enable optimisation of structures on the basis of reliability. The article presents the procedure of calculating the reliability of the structure and the procedure, which enables a discrete multicriterion optimisation or evaluation of individual entities according to the absolute advantage considering the selected criteria of optimisation. The method is shown on the example of glued laminated timber structure
