    By making a few changes and additions, the ventilated roof of a building can also act as a solar energy collector, dynamic heat insulation and an element of radiation cooling. These have also been ... the guidelines in designing the large-panel system for hot-air heating, ventilation and cooling. We have designed it in cooperation with designing companies and the producer IMP Klimat p.o. from Ljubljana and TRIMO d.d. from Trebnje. The basis of the large-panel solar energy collector consist of the bearing fire-resistant roof plate Trimoterm SNV 120 and the covering roof plate Trimoval TP 750. The environmental air enters the eaves duct and is led out into the collection duct on the roof ridge. Ventilation and hot-air heating is carried out by roof air-condition equipment IMP KLIMAT KZML with power consumption of 120 kW, recuperation system and the possibility of accelerated start-up by means of the existing air. Depending on operating conditions, the air-condition equipment uses preheated air from the large-panel solar energy collector as fresh entering air, regulating the temperature when it is too high by admixing colder environmental air, or else heating the sanitary water by means of surplus energy. In order to determine heat characteristics and for parametric analysis of a particular parameter's impact on the operation of a large-panel solar energy collector, we at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering have elaborated a sample prototype roof with the surface of 4 m2 and we have performed several measurements of operating efficiency of this element as a solar energy collector. By measurements we have also verified the mathematical model of such solar energy collector, by means of which we can analyse the impact of particular parameters, optimise the operation in view of the purpose and predict the operation of the large panel solar system and the energy gains. We have tested the operation also in practice on an actual building - on a multi-purpose gymnasium nearby the Elementary School in Komenda.
