  • Doplerski ultrazvok in barvni energijski žilni prikaz v diagnostiki jetrnih tumorjev = Doppler ultrasound and color power angio imaging in liver tumor diagnostics
    Skok, Pavel ; Ćeranić, Davorin
The purpose of this prospective study was to evaluate the efficacy of Color Power Angio imaging and Color Doppler for identification of vascularisation inpatients with different liver tumors. ... Patients and methods. In 55 patients with liver tumors (male 36, female 19, av. age 65.5 years, SD +- 18, span 37-87 years; 15 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, 26 patients with metastatic liver tumors and 14 patients with benign lesions) ultrasound investigations were performed. In all patients with malignant tumors the lesions were confirmed histologically. The sonographic examinations, Doppler sonography, Color Power Angio imaging and flow calculations were carried out on ATL HDI R 3000 Ultrasound System, ultrasound device equipped with a ultrasound probe of 2-4 Mhz frequency range and 2.5 MHz Doppler frequency. Results. Doppler vascularsignals were detected in 38/55 (69%) patients; Color Power Angio imaging detected vascularisation in 50/55 (90.9%) patients, p < 0.01. Presence and distribution of Color Doppler and Color Power Angio signalsdid not significantly differ in benign and malignant lesions. Conclusions. These results indicate that both imaging modalities are useful for ascertainment of liver tumor vascularity. Color Power Angio imaging is more sensitive than Color Doppler in identifying vascular signals in liver tumors and benign lesions of the liver.
