  • Občutljivost bakterij, izoliranih na Inštitutu za mikrobiologijo in imunologijo Medicinske fakultete v Ljubljani v letu 1999, in občutljivost bakterij v intenzivnih enotah Kliničnega centra v letu 1998 = Antibiotic susceptibility of the bacteria isolated at the Institute of microbiology and immunology of the Ljubljana Medical faculty in 1999 and antibiotic susceptibility at Intensive care units of the Ljubljana medical centre in 1998

The regular monitoring of the antimicrobial susceptibility of clinically important bacteria is an important task for microbiologists, clinicians and epidemiologists. Antibiotic susceptibility of 1079 ... bacterial isolates from blood cultures, 130 from cerebrospinal fluids, 4951 from wounds, 1599 from sputa, 3469 from tracheal aspirates, G182 from urine and 410 from stool of patients in the University Medical Centre and other departments in Ljubljana were tested at the Institute according to the performance standards of National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards and shown in tables. Additionally susceptibility from five hospital units in 1998 was shown. Susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus to methicillin was worse than in 1998-it ranged from 44,2% in tracheal aspirates to 66,8% in blood cultures. Susceptibility of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella spp. was better than in 1998. Susceptibility of Haemophilus influenzae for ampicillin and Sneprococcus pneumoniae for penicillin from cerebrospinal fluids was worse than in 1998. In individual intensive care units susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus to methicillin in the year 1998 ranged from 35,0 % to 74,1 %.
