  • Možnosti in omejitve ambulantne kirurgije in anestezije = Possibilities and limitations of ambulatory surgery and outpatient anaesthesia
Barovič, Vesna ; Logar, Primož ; Brate-Šolar, Tatjana
The demand for outpatient surgery and office-case anesthesia is increasing formedical, technological and economic reasons. Ophtalmic day-case surgery andanesthesia have developed over the past ten ... years. Careful selection of ambulatory patients, preoperative evaluation, good control of the symptoms of pre-existing diseases which is in the hands of the patient's personal physician and internist and optimal intra- and post operative anesthesiological management reduce the perioperative risks associated with the patient's pre-existing chronic diseases. Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting and good postoperative analgesia make home care for such patients easy and comfortable, and reduce the incidence of complications. High-quality and cost-effective outpatient ophtalmic surgery and anesthesia require close cooperation, between the surgeon, the anesthesiologist and the patient's general practitioner.
