    The article presents the methodology of the measurement of the quantity of thework in nursing care that is used in an international project "Quality and quantity in nursing care" in Health Center ... Maribor. It describes the instruments that are adapated for the Slovene situation. The methodology is based on observation and on measurements of all activities of the nurses and the health technicians, categorisation of patients according to their needs for nursing care, subjective scores of the nurse on the workload on the day ofthe measurements and calculation and evaluation of the measurements.
