    Background. The authors analysed the response time of emergency medical services in Jesenice. The results of multivariable analysis showed the response time is independently predicted by the distance ... from the event, occurrence of another event at the same time, winter months and the type of the event reported. Conclusions. The distance from the event should be recorded as part of the routine data collection process, if the response time is to be used as an indicator of quality of emergency services. To ensure adequate response time the emergency medical services should be located closely to the sites where such events can occur.
