    Čebašek, Vita
The alimentary canal is a series of hollow organs whose common task is to accept and digest food. The first parts of the digestive tube, the oral cavityand the pharynx, are omitted from the ... discussion because of the numerouspeculiarities in their structure. The article describes only the anatomy of the sc.:;ond part of the alimentary canal, from the beginning of the esophagus to the end of the large intestine (anus). The morphology, topography and peritoneum of the gullet (esophagus), stomach (ventriculus, gaster), small intestine (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) and large intestine (cecum, colon and rectum) are described in detai1. Nerves, vessels and most important lymph nade group s are listed for each organ. Some short clinical notes are added to the text to make it more interesting.
