  • The pseudo-gradient algorithm for residual gas analysis = Psevdogradientna metoda za analizo masnih spektrov

    The article focuses on a special approach to the qualitative and quantitative residual gas analysis of a vacuum-chamber atmosphere. The main outline of mass-spectrometry usage is given together with ... a brief comparison of two completely different scientific fields. The new approach, where the mass spectra are formalized in a vector annotation, to residual gas analysis is proposed. The main problem with residual gas analysis based on a mass spectrum is its ambiguity, which cannot be easily resolved. One way to deal with the problem is practical knowledge about the interpretation of mass spectra. The pseudo-gradient algorithm for mass-spectra analysis was developed and tested. The general testing platform was developed and the algorithm was tested within it. The presented work is the foundation for a comprehensive study of mass-spectrum analysis techniques. An important concept is the virtual environment that provides the mass-spectrum generator, the standard fragmentation patternsć database, the data space for the various algorithms that can test various approaches to the mass-spectrum analysis, and the database of the achieved results, which is necessary for the comparison of different algorithms and represents the backbone for the dynamic mass-spectra generation and analysis.
