  • Rehabilitacija bolnikov po preboleli možganski kapi v bodočnosti = Stroke rehabilitation in future
    Goljar Kregar, Nika
Despite the limitation in the field of its research, stroke rehabilitation advanced substantially in the last decade. Better understanding of neurophysiological mechanisms underlying stroke recovery, ... synergistic combination of rehabilitation and pharmacological agents, emerging technologies, neurotransplantation and the benefit of well-organized stroke services have enabled creative approaches in stroke rehabilitation. There are many challenges in forming new therapeutic methods and verifying their effectiveness as well as in convincing the policymakers of the importance of well-organized and accessible rehabilitation after stroke. In the future, in Slovenia special stress should be given to acute care and rehabilitation in stroke units, coordinated multidisciplinary rehabilitation (staff with stroke specialists), stroke rehabilitation in home environment, a cognitive motor learning model, application of high technology into everyday practice (robotics, virtual reality, telerehabilitation) as well as establishing programs for long-term psychological support for stroke patients and their families.
