    Children meet children's literature already in their pre-school period and in all the years of their primary education. The curricula for Slovene anticipate reading and analysing the readers and ... complete literary works. They offer basic tendencies for textual works, define the elements of literary theory and literary history and direct literary education. Students obtain initiatives for an independent selection and independent reading of literature. Students do not read only positively oriented books. Some examples of incompulsory, unschooled reading points at the distance between a positive theory and negative effects of literary works on students. The ways to overcome that distance are indicated
