  • Primerjava slovenskega in kuvajtskega rehabilitacijskega programa za otroke s cerebralno paralizo - prenos izkušenj = Comparison of rehabilitation programs for children with cerebral paralysis in Slovenia and Kuwait - transfer of experience
    Zeljič, Vesna
Until today cerebral palsy represents major cause of disabilities in children. The changing nature of the handicap according to the child's own development and growth remains a challenge to the ... interdisciplinary and rehabilitation team of professionals involved in the treatment regime of such child. The author deals with the concept of team approach, interdisciplinary management and stresses the importance of early diagnosis and early treatment.Adequate rehahilitation programme for children with various handicaps can only be achieved through a crrocerted rehahilitation team which is following the concept of early nevrodevelopmental treatment. Transfer of knowledge and experiences from countries when nevrodevelopmental concept has already been well established to countries where it has only to be started (like Kuwait) can be important on one hand, however on the other hand it is also important for such countries to establish their own system and standards according to their local requirements and also taking into account their own lifestyle, culture, religion, customs, etc. Only with all these cusideratiuns in mind we can achieve good rcsults also in those countries where proper earlyintervention mesures are to be implemented.
