    Micro synthetic fibers, based on polypropylene, have been used to reduce plastic shrinkage cracking in concrete floors and slabs for many years. During the past fifteen years, however, "macro" ... synthetic fibers have been developed to control cracking in concrete floors and slabs caused by thermal movements, long-term drying shrinkage and underground sprayed concrete applications. These fibers significantly increase the ductility and toughness of the concrete and provide an advantage both in terms of performance and application compared to conventional materials. In this study, the compressive strength and flexural tests were carried out on specimens produced with new generation synthetic macro fibers and steel fibers comparatively and compressive strength, flexural strength and specific energy values were calculated from the test results.
