    In this paper we study the influence of signal resampling (interpolation) on the frequency spectrum of activity index. We show that the influence of resampling cannot be detected in frequency spectra ... of resampled signals directly, although it corrupts the spectrum of activity index. This artefact is an unwanted property as it looks similar to activity-index-based detection of compound signal components. Only resampling of observed signals with rational factors leads to additional frequencies in activity index spectrum, while integer factors do not affect activity index. We prove this fact on synthetic and real signals, i.e. human electroencephalogram (EEG), and suggest how to single out the resampling artefacts.
