Hmelak, Maja, 1982- ; Vrečič, Mateja, pedagoginja
Friendship is for all, of the utmost importance and even preschool children are not an exception. Thus, in the theoretical part, the authors define the meaning of friendship for preschool children ... and the emotional adjustment to the social environment, with particular emphasis on establishing a relationship with peers in social interactions and the role of the educator as an example in this. Attention is also paid to the importance of toys and cartoons in the establishment of peer friendly relationship. In the following, the authors present the results of the research in preschool children. The purpose of the research is to analyse why children choose a particular person as their friend and what they do with their friends. In doing so, the authors monitored the differences in answers depending on the age of preschool children (3, 4, 5 and 6 years). They found that their friendships are mostly based on games, kindness and understanding and that the company of peers also provides them with new insights and challenges.
