  • Colour-structure relationship of cotton/PES blended fabrics [Elektronski vir]

    The aim of this research was to investigate the correlation between the colour and the fabric structure of two fabrics, made from cotton/polyester blends of equal ratio (50/50) but differing in yarn ... and weave structure. Samples were dyed using ready-mixed products of vat and disperse dyes (Teracoton) in yellow, red and blue colour using different dye concentrations (1 g/L, 5 g/L, 10 g/L and 20 g/L). Dyeing was performed using a 'foil method',which represents a laboratory simulation of the thermosol/pad steam process. Dyed samples were colourimetrically evaluated using an SF 600+ spectrophotometer (Datacolor) and ClELAB colour system. The obtained results indicate various colour differences in chroma, hue and lightness between the used samples, which lead to colour differences in production.
