  • Reforming the public sector in Slovenia : re-engineering administrative units

    The phenomena of Business Process Re-engineering (BRP) and Workflow Managementare explored in this work by placing them in the Public Administration context. It is still an open question how to start ... BRP in a typical PA environment and at the same time avoid the possiblepitfalls and bring about some tangible result in available time. Analysis of our project revealed several hundred types of different processes that are under the responsibility of administrativeunits. Through them, local authorities are delivering services to its citizens along with the need of controlling, monitoring of regulative tasks of local public administration. Most typical processes are referring to granting different permissions, licences and rightsto the citizens, e.g. building permissions, business licences, driving licences, among many others.
