  • Comparative Analysis of Rheological Model for Wood
    Mirić-Milosavljević, Mira, 1959- = Мирић-Милосављевић, Мира, 1959-
This paper provides a comparative analysis of the rheology models used to describe the behavior and properties of wood in different operating conditions. The first rheological model that was used is ... Hooke's model. It is valid for elastic materials and does not display material changes over time. The development of the science of polymers leads to rapid development rheological model. New models have been developed that are valid for viscoelastic materials and who are able to describe changes to the material properties during long time. These are: Kelvin-Voight, Maxwell, Zener and Burger model. For each model is presented: the structure, connection of stress and strain, the equation for stress at a constant deformation and deformation at constant stress, advantages and disadvantages in the use of different models. None of the above models can not fully describe the real changes in the structure of the wood over time. Comparative analysis of models shows that Burger model which is most commonly used to describe the behavior and properties of wood has many limitations.
