    For the agricultural production planning, a documented basis on soil fertility is necessary while it creation requires team work of experts from the agronomic and IT sector. The concept of ... integrating data on soil quality and open data is a global trend in aim to protect and improve land management. The development of the SKUP solutions was started from the existing data of 1,850 individual soil samples from the land area of 15.904 ha (Bački Petrovac municipality). After validation of the input data by re-laboratory analysis of each batch, 1.456 samples were considered for further analysis. Each sample is accompanied by spatial components, data on fertility parameters. In addition, 124 samples contain data on physical and pedological characteristics of the soil. The GIS ESRI ArcGIS was used for data processing. The geological, pedological and groundwater map were georeferenced as bases. Spatial interpolation of input data by IDW method was performed and fertility maps were made. In the next step, modelling was approached in order to define special criteria of suitability maps as output data (for hazelnut and sugar beet cultivation) by GIS tools. Defined criteria limits were according to the principle that any limiting factor classifies a given area as an unsuitable zone. It was determined that 46 % of the observed area is unsuitable, for growing hazelnuts and 22 % conditionally suitable; while 5 % of the analysed area is unsuitable for sugar beet cultivation and 36 % is conditionally suitable. The solution SKUP contains a software browser in GIS and criteria, with a real spatial component for identification of suitable, conditionally suitable and unsuitable zones of agricultural land (suitability maps) for defined plant species. Based on this software browser it is possibility for making strategic decisions from the aspect of profitability and sustainability of plant production with the options of modelling and prediction.
