IB e-book [Elektronski vir]Section 1: International entrepreneurship has been concerned with the determinants of internationalization. These determinants can be defined as those internal and external characteristics that ... influence a firm’s decision to initiate, develop, and sustain international business activities. Two sets of characteristics lead firms to consider the possibility of operating outside their home market: internal ones arising from within the firm, and external ones which are outside the firm’s control. In order to address some of these factors and antecedents of internationalization, we have developed several video cases that tackle these issues. Section 2: Choosing the right entry mode after deciding to go international is probably one of the most critical decisions that any firm can face. Mainly because there will be numerous other factors that will have further implications as a result of this decision. The chosen entry mode will also have a direct impact on the outcome of internationalization for the firm. Furthermore, entry modes vary tremendously, depending on the value chain activity and the experience of the firm. Most firms also restructure their portfolio of international activities, so it is impossible to make a one-for-all or once-for-all decision. The video cases that we have developed focus on some of the most common entry modes from starting with home based activities and exporting to equity or ownership-based international activities such as foreign direct investments (FDI) through greenfield investments and acquisitions; but also contractual modes such as global sourcing where our focal firms collaborate with their foreign subcontracting suppliers. In our video case collection, we have a number of video cases covering these topics, from exporting to greenfield investments, reminding us when and how each entry strategy should be put into use, touching upon each of their advantages and disadvantages. Section 3: As the activities of companies expand, these companies are faced with a situation where they are asked to serve some customers abroad and deliver their products or services to a foreign and distant market. An array of decisions have to be taken in order to maintain a successful international presence as well as compete against global players. We have developed a series of video cases focusing on topics including competing and restructuring internationally, international marketing, international operations and supply chain management, digital disruption and digital contributions to international business, sustainable development, including social and environmental corporate governance, culture, institutions, politics and policy, and last but not least the impact of the pandemic on IB.Type of material - textbook ; adult, seriousPublication and manufacture - [S.l.] : MNC whispering, 2021Language - english, slovenianCOBISS.SI-ID - 106125059
