  • Damping-layout design approach with frequency-content control [Elektronski vir]

    Careful design of a structure damping layout can result in a frequency-band limited reduction of vibration responses. Analytical approaches that relate the spatial-damping parameters with the ... corresponding spectra are limited. This research introduces a theoretical approach to damping-layout design (location and size) with frequency-content control. The required damping layout is obtained via spatial-damping identification methods. These methods provide a straightforward relationship between the frequency responses and the targeted spatial damping. Approach is validated numerically and experimentally. This approach can be a valuable tool for a damping-layout assessment as damping can be achieved with a reduced amount of damping material in a singlestep solution.
