Kalcipotriol in luskavica = Calcipotriol and psoriasis

Calcipotriol is a vitamin D3 derivate. Its effect regualiton of the proliferationand differentiation of keratinocytes. Calcipotriol thus normalises abnormal cell proliferation in psoriatic skin. ...Calcipotriol is indicated for the treatment of psoriasis. Calcipotriol is applied topically twice daily. The maximum dose is 100g/week. The only contraindication for the treatment is hypersensitivity to calcipotriol. Treatment with calcipotriol in pregnancy should be avoided. We should be very careful when we treat the children. It may cause local irritaion so it should not be used in the face. Excesive use (above 100g/week) may cause elevated serum calcium which rapidly subsides when treatment is discontinued. Calcipotriol is effective in 60 to 80% of all patients treated. Calcipotriol can be used alone or in combination with topical steriod and second-line treatments (such as acitretin, cyclosporin A, PUVA and UVB).
