  • Primjena kombinacije 1D i 2D matematičkog modela na simulaciji toka u prirodnim vodotocima
    Četina, Matjaž ; Krzyk, Mario
The contemporary hydrotechnical practice uses ID mathematical model for solution of open channel flow problems on a daily basis. However, some problems request more detailed elaboration of the effect ... the relevant factors have on water flow, which is possible if 2D and 3D models are used. The resultof application of these complex models is more detailed information about the water flow, open surface position and distribution of velocities. On the other hand, these models are more complicated, more expensive and more time-consuming in use. Adequate combination of 1D and 2D models offers optimum method of reaching the satisfactory results for individual flow stretches. The subject approach to solving the flow problems in natural streamflows is illustrated by an example of the Idrijca River flow, on its section from the Bače River mouth to the mouth of the Idrijca and Soča Rivers.1D model covers the complete considered stretch, while the 2D model simulated the flow only in the sections where an explicitly two-dimensional flow is expected. The results of the models were compared with the in situ measurements of the water level along the streamflow.
