  • Freeze-thaw resistance with and without deicing salts of high performance concrete for thin toppings of outside industrial floors
Zajc, Andrej, 1938- ; Šušteršič, Jakob ; Šajna, Aljoša
In practice, there are many surfaces of industrial floors wich are disintegrated due to freezing and thawing in the presence of deicing salt and abrasion actions. Because those damages have near ... surface character, undrlay of concrete slab remain undamaged and it is still proper for further use. Therefore, damaged layer has to be removed in depth of 4 to 6 cm and replace by high-performance concrete topping with the same thickness. High performance concrete are high resistant against freeze and thaw with and without deicing salts because of their reduced capillary porosity. One example of repair of thin high-performance concrete topping and the results of porosity measurements as well of freeze-thaw durability testing for two different high performance concrete prepared with addition of polymer dispersion and silica-fume ared duscussed in the paper.
