  • Interactive 3D driving simulation symulation system [Elektronski vir]

    The system for interactive 3D driving simulation incorporates the vehicle mechanical model, the database of vehicle data and a subsystem for display in virtual 3D environment. The data required for ... controlling the simulated vehicle is read simultaneously, which makes the system usable for real-time simulations. It can simulate wheeled vehicles with two to four axles on a driving surface, represented by a polygon mesh of an arbitrary shape. The simulation results can be written into output files either as a table of numerical data for analyses or as a time-true digital video for comparison with video recordings of real vehicles. The system is supported with a libraryof three-dimensional geometrical models of vehicles and road infrastructure. Because of its properties the system is suitable for evaluating vehicle performance, for determining parameters of safe driving on different driving surfaces as well as for education of vehicle operators, maintainers and designers. The system can be directly connected to the system for human body load simulation, thus enabling the user to test and evaluate the influence on vehicle passengers during ride in different driving regimes
