    The per capita consumption of pure alcohol within the country is decreasing slowly but consistently. On a long-term basis general health indicators should reflect the effects of reduced consumtion. ... The temporary absence from work is one of the factors, which helps to determine the harmful effects of alcohol abuse. The analysis for 2001 has shown that the statistical indicators regarding absence from work compared to the year before have improved.
