This article deals with a rough estimate of eligibility of technology changes regarding welding of strengthened ribs for middle-sized boats. A welding procedure has been made on welded samples, which ...represented a section of ship hull with different types of welding technologies, the old and the new technology. The deformation comparison was made between the two welding technologies, after the welding procedure; for welding joints the mehanical tests and metallographic researches of cross sections have also been made. The results of strengthening tests show that ship tons wouldn't be reduced below the permissible value, while meanwhile the production costs would be decreased, due to smaller deformation.
