A study of the imidization kinetics of polyimide resin curing

An IR spectroscopic study of the imidization kinetics of curing of a polyimide resin is presented. It is demonstrated that the usually employed curing times may be shortened in a modified curing ...schedule without compromising the quality of the polyimide film. On the other hand, certain care has to be taken not to cure the polyimide resins at too low a temperature (below 300 deg.C in case presented), as this may prevent consequent full imidization of the polyimide.
