  • Network organizations - industrial clusters - projects
    Semolič, Brane
Globalization and rapid technological development necessitate organizations to develop competitiveness on the world level. This is a great difficulty for small and medium companies with limited ... availability of resources, such as labour, funds, production capacity or know-how. Therefore it is a must that they focus on specialised fields of business activities which are prospective for the development and attainment of world competitive edge. They should search for other products and services, required for the pursuance of current or planned business activity outside their organization, on the world market. It is necessary for companies to re-evaluate the organization and structure of their operations. The theory-provided concepts emanate from the theory of costs and transactions, network organizations, theory of business clusters, theory of value chains and theory of project management. The paper brings a brief insight into the knowledge imparted thereof and that the author has acquired through his practical and theoretical work while developing several Slovenian business clusters and network organizations.
