The purposes of this study were to investigate the well-being and learning performance of students in dance-talented classes, to compare the differences in students ...of different demographic factors, and to demonstrate the relationship between well-being and learning performance.
The research samples were 487 elementary students in Taiwan. The research tools included: personal demographic information, well-being questionnaire as well as students’ academic and dance achievements at school. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, two-way ANOVA, one-way MANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis. The research findings were summed up as follows:
1. The well-being of elementary school students, dance-talented classes and regular classes alike, was above average. The levels of well-being from high to low were: life satisfaction, learning satisfaction and self-satisfaction.

The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the content and special issues in non-professional interpersonal lives of professional helpers. The influence of the ...helping profession, integration of professional and personal roles, and advices from these helpers based on their personal experiences were also examined. Participants were composed of 12 professionals and trainees currently practicing in the helping profession. These helpers were enlisted through purposeful sampling, and all of them participated in a semi-structural in-depth interview. The data collected were then systematically analyzed using grounded theory method, and results were as follows:
1.Interpersonal relationships in helpers’ non-professional lives include families, friends, intimate relationships, colleagues and co-workers, thus overlapping between professional and non-professional interpersonal lives were observed. This study investigates the effects of Chinese accounting standards and tax system on the corporate effective tax rates (ETRs) of china listed companies. Despite that the statutory ...tax rate of China income tax law is 33%, we found the average ETR of China listed companies is only about 14.14% during our sample period spanning from 1999 to 2005, suggesting that most listed companies across various areas and industries may enjoy substantial tax incentives. The empirical results show that the companies in Shanghai and Hainan have lower average ETRs then those in other areas. Especially, the agriculture, forestry, herding, fishery industries and the information technology industries have the lowest average ETRs of below 10%, possibly due to that Chinese government provides substantial tax incentives for both industries. Further, to converge with the international accounting standards, China gradually phased-in the accounting for asset impairments in 1998 and 2001, requiring listed companies to

Propofol, an intravenous anesthetic agent, is widely used for induction and maintenance of anesthesia during surgical procedures. Propofol can be used as a sedative agent for ...intensive care unit patients. Previous studies had reported that human cytochrome P450s (CYPs) play critical roles in the metabolism of propofol. Rat is a common animal model for pharmacological and toxicological studies of drugs. However, it is not determined which CYP isoforms contribute to the metabolism of propofol in rat liver. Thus, one of specific aims of this study is to determine which CYP isoforms in rat liver has a major role in propofol metabolism. The drug transport from extracellular environment to intracellular endoplasmic reticulums will determine if CYPs can effectively metabolize these drugs. Previous study has reported that cytoskeleton could modulate drug transport. Another specific aim of this study is to evaluate the role of cytoskeleton in CYP activities.
Previous studies revealed that CYP2B6 and
