This paper deals with some of the results of a survey done in 2004 and 2005 among the students of secondary schools of the Split-Dalmatian County on the position of sport within their leisure time. ...The results of the analysis uncover that sport is one of the very significant student activities, but not the most significant one (it is in fourth place, and attending sport events is in the eighth place in students’ leisure time). The position of sports and attending sport events in students’ leisure time significantly differs among different areas of the County: coast, islands and Zagora. While sports hold the highest position in the hinterland (second place, and attending sport events in third), on the coast they are in fifth and sixth, and on the islands in ninth and eleventh place respectively. There are differences among students of different areas regarding the most preferred sport. Although soccer is the most preferred sport in all areas, the percentage of soccer lovers is twice as high on the islands than in other two areas. Besides soccer, the most preferred sport in the coastal area is basketball, and in the Zagora athletics. The results indicate the necessity for a differential sport policy in different parts of the County.
The main purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the connection between residential segregation in urban areas and the differences that occur between socially segregated parts of the city with regard ...to living conditions. Living conditions are defi ned by the indicators of residential and ecological conditions (amount of square metres of area for satisfying the different needs of the population as well as the ecological conditions of the surroundings). This analysis indicates that a socially segregated city essentially infl uences living conditions. The inhabitants of lower social segregated parts live in worse conditions compared with the population from higher social types that live in better conditions. (The city was divided into fi ve types of socially segregated zones as follows: „Slum“, „Semi-slum“, „Standard type“, „Semi-elite type“and „Elite type“). This causes a more intensive exploitation of the lower social strata. Therefore, the planning process should be differentially oriented towards the gentrifi cation of the city. The relation between segregation and the differentiation in living conditions is not, however, complete with the impact of the fi rst on the second one, but is the reverse as well. The quality of living condition has an important impact on the social segregation of the city. This is because the different social strata of population, due to differences in the possibility of choice, can or cannot choose a part of the city with regard to its quality.
The authors define the notion of the urban place as well as the process of urbanisation. They also show how the process of the increase in world urban populations grew to 47% in the year 2000. They ...also stress the differences in urbanisation levels between the highest (74%) and the lowest developed countries in the world (37%) – this means there was a ratio of 2:1 in the year 2000. This essay also shows a projection of future urbanisation up to the year 2030, when the ratio should be lower (1.5:1 – this means that the developed countries will have an urbanisation coefficient of 82%, compared with underdeveloped countries where around 55% of the population will be urban). In the second part of the essay, by using the Pearson χ2 test, as well as the coefficient of contingency, the authors present an analysis of the relationship between the urbanisation coefficient and its eventual consequences. The data are taken from the book "The World in Numbers" (the population of the country and country capitals, BNP per capita, consumption of electrical energy per capita, life expectancy of females and males, birth rate and mortality) in order to prove four hypotheses regarding the connections of these variables with the urban population coefficient. Two hypotheses are completely proven regarding the connection of the urbanisation level with the life expectancy of females and males, as well as with natality and mortality. The other two hypotheses have only been partially proven (regarding the BNP and the consumption of energy). However, the part of the hypothesis regarding the population of a country as well as the country capital was not completely proven.
Istraživanje provedeno među nekim političkim strankama u Splitu pokazalo je postojanje značajnih razlika među njima, pogotovo između dvije glavne koalicijske stranke na vlasti (HSLS i SDP) u pogledu ...odnosa prema nacionalnim manjinama. Vrlo visoki koeficijenti kontingencije ukazuju na to da se stav prema nacionalnim manjinama, njihovim ostvarenim pravima kao i sama nacionalna distanca, posebno prema nekim manjinama, značajno razlikuju. Isto tako, razlike između HSLS-ovih i SDP-ovih dužnosnika su značajne i u pogledu regionalnih te konfesionalnih distanci, njihovih strukturalnih karakteristika, pa i nekih stavova koji ukazuju na progresivnu, odnosno regresivnu orijentaciju. To svakako otežava odgovarajuće donošenje odluka o izmjeni društvenog položaja nacionalnih manjina.
U prvome dijelu rada se definiraju glavni pojmovi vezani za pojam regije i njeno unutrašnje funkcioniranje (regionalni centar, subregionalni centar, mikroregionalni centar, centri razvojnog područja i ...podcentri). Zatim se daje jedna vrlo kompleksna definicija grada. U nastavku se opisuje porječje Krke kao subregija i ukazuje na promjene do kojih je došlo na tom području u posljednjih dvadesetak godina
Primjenom metode analize sadržaja, obrađeni su članci objavljeni na Internet izdanju splitskog dnevnika »Slobodna Dalmacija« u razdoblju lipanj-prosinac 1999. i 2002. godine, u kojima se spominju ...nacionalne manjine. Za analizu su odabrana tri dana u tjednu (ponedjeljak, četvrtak i subota), te rubrike »Novosti«, »Teme dana«, »Ekonomija«, »Kultura« i gradske rubrike Splita i Zadra. Pilot-istraživanjem je utvrđeno kako se članci u kojima se spominju nacionalne manjine uopće ne pojavljuju u rubrikama »Ekonomija«, »Kultura« i gradskim rubrika Splita i Zadra, pa je analiza sadržaja primijenjena na člancima objavljenim unutar cjelina »Novosti« i »Teme dana«. Pregledano je ukupno ~063 članaka, a manjine su se spominjale u 81 članku (3,9 posto). Kvantitativna i kvalitativna analiza pokazala je kako se članci o manjinama javljaju uglavnom unutar političkog konteksta, a najčešći povod njihovom objavljivanju je određeni politički događaj. Vrlo rijetko javljaju se tekstovi o svakodnevnom životu manjina, dok uopće nema napisa posvećenih kulturi i umjetnosti. Govor o nacionalnim manjinama je općenit i relativno su rijetki članci u kojima se govori o pojedinoj manjini. I tada je pristup reduciran na pripadnike srpske i talijanske zajednice, dok se Bošnjaci i Albanci spominju samo jednom. Ostale manjine nisu dobile prostor na Internet-stranicama »Slobodne Dalmacije« u istraživanom razdoblju. Nadalje, manjine se najčešće spominju usputno, u jednoj ili dvije rečenice, a način pisanja je jednostran i donekle unificiran. Prevladavaju tekstovi s - uvjetno rečeno - negativnim predznakom, dok se kao iznimke javljaju neutralno i pozitivno intonirani članci. Jednom riječju, politika dominira i u pristupu nacionalnim manjinama, potiskujući ostale teme vezane uz njihov život u Republici Hrvatskoj.
Ovaj tekst dio je projekta Titius koji će se o Porječju obrađivati tri godine. Ovo je samo prva faza istraživanja o naseljima i kretanju stanovništva. U drugoj će se fazi prikazati određene strukture ...i promjene struktura stanovništva između dva zadnja popisa. Treća faza će se sastojati iz istraživanja stanovnika o povjerenju u državne i društvene institucije u vlastitoj sredini.
Ovaj se tekst sastoji iz tri dijela. U prvom dijelu se govori o defi nicijama grada, sela i mješovitih naselja te procesa urbanizacije. Tu se postavlja pet hipoteza. U drugom dijelu se pomoću statističkih podataka vrši analiza ovih pojmova i procesa, a u trećem se izvode zaključci iz te analize.
Stanovništvo Porječja kontinuirano je raslo s manjim oscilacijama, a od 1961. je počelo opadati, s drastičnim padom između dva zadnja popisa.
Međutim, takvo kretanje ne odnosi se podjednako na sva naselja. Gradska naselja bez obzira u kojem se području nalazila imaju pad stanovništva, dok obalna seoska naselja i u ovom razdoblju pokazuju rast stanovništva.
I konačno, gradovi Porječja Krke organizirani su centralistički, jer je najveći grad tri puta veći od drugog grada po veličini, a odnos između ostalih gradova je još i veći, što ne daje dobru gospodarsku perspektivu Porječja.
Since joining the European Union for Croatia is an actual process above all, the aim of this work is to find out the relation of the identity -- which has gained an increasing significance in ...sociology -- & the desire for joining the European Union. The relation of the identity to the desire for joining the E. U was examined on an example of Teachers College students in Split, as a social group which has, during their work-time, a very important role as an agent in the process of socializing young people. The investigation was realized by the surrey-method, by means of a designed questionnaire, on a sample of 348 students of the Teachers College in Split. The socio-demographic data about students crosstabulated with their religious (the religious intensity), territorial (local community affiliation, region, Croatia, international regions, Europe, the whole world) & party-related identification (political parties preference). The studies have shown that students mostly identify with religion (88 % of answers) followed by the territorial local identification (71 % of answers), while the party-related identification is expressed by only 50 % of answers. The studies have also shown the connection of some identity aspects with particular features of social & residential status, which are to a large extent connected with the party-related identity, & to a lesser degree with the temtonal identity (C-coefficients vary from 0,30 to 0,40, which makes 30% to 50 % of most possible coefficients.) A connection between particular identities (specially party-related & territorial) with the desire of joining the E. U. In the article have also been analysed & interpreted the students preferences of European countries towards their living attractiveness. The results have been compared to some earlier results of researches about single questions (about the identity in Istra, about a range of European countries in accordance with their living attractiveness on the example on young people in Zagreb). 13 Tables, 7 Figures, 36 References. Cilj rada je ukazati na strukturalne promjene stanovništva u Pokrčju,
posebno između dva zadnja popisa stanovništva, domaćinstava i stanova.
U tekstu su postavljene četiri hipoteze o strukturalnim ...karakteristikama stanovništva i domaćinstava, od kojih su prve tri, koje se odnose na demografske i socioekonomske karakteristike stanovništva, te karakteristike domaćinstava u potpunosti ili djelomice dokazane, dok je četvrta hipoteza koja se odnosi na promjene u
stambenom fondu potvrđena samo u onom dijelu koji se odnosi na smanjenje broja stanovnika po stanu, a u ostalim dijelovima nije dokazana.
Analizom je dobiveno da je stanovništvo između dva zadnja popisa (1991. i 2001.) pokazalo negativne trendove u dobnoj, fertilnoj, obrazovnoj, etničkoj i strukturi stanovništva prema aktivnosti te veličini domaćinstava, ali je u pogledu rasta apsolutnog broja zaposlenih i smanjenja broja nezaposlenih nakon 2001. kao i porasta broja stanova za stalno stanovanje – zahvaljujući intenzivnoj izgradnji
stanova – pokazala pozitivne tendencije.
Činjenica je da su u onim tipovima naselja koja su zbog rata (što smo već iznijeli u tekstu «Naselja i kretanje stanovništva u porječju Krke») pokazala regresivne tendencije (zagorska sela i gradovi), izraženiji negativni trendovi strukturalnih promjena nego u onim tipovima naselja koja su pokazala progresivne trendove (primorska sela).
Iz svega toga može se zaključiti kako se u Pokrčju još duže vrijeme može očekivati demografska i socijalna devastacija, posebno u onim krajevima koji su bili zahvaćeni ratom, premda se u nekim pokazateljima pokazuju znaci oporavka.
