Abstract The article addresses the relevant issue of today – digitalization of geographic higher education. The future of geographic education in the digital world depends on the use of digital ...technologies, which are dramatically changing approaches to teaching geography. The generalization of scientific literature and the analysis of pedagogical experience allow the authors to define the concept digitalization of geographic. The article explores some challenges in the implementation of digital technologies in geographic disciplines in higher education: narrowing geographic education digitalization to the use of various gadgets; the application of general purpose digital technologies; underestimation of GIS technologies during the study of geography; occasional use of VR, AR technologies and mobile applications of geographic and cartographic content; the lack of educational and methodological support and proper technological availability. The authors pay special attention to the prospects for the development of geographic education digitalization, which are envisioned in the introduction of “Digitalization of geographic education” into the curriculum of future geography teachers training; the use of high-quality free educational resources (ArcGIS Online, QGIS); the creation of own geo-information platforms (“Digital Geography”); and updating of the material and technical base of the scientific research laboratory on the methodology of teaching geo-information technologies.
We analysed the relationship between the chemical complex (concentration of dissolved ions, nutrients, pH) and biological parameters (primary production, biomass of phytoplankton, abundance and ...activity of bacterial communities) at estuaries of rivers and coastal waters of Southern Baikal during the under-ice period. Correlation network analysis revealed CO2 to be the main limiting factor for the development of algae and microbial communities in the coastal zone of Lake Baikal. This study indicates that primarily reverse synthesis of bicarbonate and carbonate ions associated with the development of phytoplankton and accumulation of dissolved CO2 during photosynthesis regulates pH in the Baikal water. We did not detect the anthropogenic factors that influence the change in pH and acidification. Near the Listvyanka settlement (Lake Baikal, Listvennichnaya Bay), there was a great number of organotrophs and thermotolerant bacteria with low bacterioplankton activity and high concentration of organic carbon. This evidences eutrophication due to the influx of organic matter having an anthropogenic source. Nutrients produced during the bacterial destruction of this matter may explain the changes in bottom phytocenoses of Listvennichnaya Bay.

Abstract
In this publication, the authors address the content and objectives of demographic data visualization, generalize the most common techniques and tools for demographic data visualization, and ...share their own experience of testing various statistical visualization practices, namely World Population Dashboard of United Nations Population Fund and Population Reference Bureau. Special emphasis is placed on the implementation of Trendalyzer software, developed by the Swedish Gapminder Foundation, and the experience of demographic statistics visualization via interactive infographics made by Oxford Martin School (a structural unit of the Department of Social Sciences at Oxford University). The presented article evaluates the contribution to the visualization of statistical data made by such Ukrainian organizations as State Statistics Service, public organization “Ukrainian Center for Public Data”, BusinessViews and Top Lead. Outlining the advantages and disadvantages of various visualization practices, the authors argue that “dry” statistics being represent by means of visualization tools such as Trendalyzer and Our World Data may constitute a clear and expressive language of convincing facts that contribute to a holistic demographic worldview.
The aim of the study – systematization and analysis of information on the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 virus variants according to information databases and own cross-sectional studies.
Materials and ...methods. The analysis was conducted in the period 2020–2021 using information databases and research resources: Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, Scirus, Springer, Medline, Embase, PubMed, Web of Science. Our own examination included a total of 80 nasopharyngeal swabs (at least two specimens in each case) collected from ARVI symptomatic or suspected COVID-19 patients, who were treated at the MNE KRC “Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital” from June to October 2021 and tested positive on SARS-CoV-2. The first study was performed in the inter-peak period, and the second one – on the rise of the disease. A real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method was used for primary identification with the diagnostic kit “Biocore® SARS-CoV-2” (LLC “Biocor Technology Ltd.”, Ukraine) in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Multiplex analysis SNPsig® VariPLEX™ Covid-19 (Primerdesign™ Ltd., UK) was used in the first cross-sectional study for secondary identification.
Results. Systematization and analysis of the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 variants according to information databases were performed. According to the results of our cross-sectional studies on SARS-CoV2 variants circulating in the Kharkiv region in June – October 2021, the complete replacement of the alpha variant, which was dominant in June – 87.5 %, with the delta variant – 95.0 %. All patients had signs of respiratory failure, community-acquired pneumonia was visualized instrumentally (computed tomography, radiography, ultrasound) at the first study in 90 % of cases, and at the second – in 100 %. The median age of patients was 60.4 years (minimum – 25 years, maximum – 91 years) during the first study, but during the second – 52.6 years (minimum – 18 years, maximum – 84 years). Thus, the more aggressive and contagious delta variant has become dominant requiring thorough public health anti-epidemic measures.
Conclusions. Monitoring and control of the virus evolution using epidemiological studies, viral genetic sequence, as well as laboratory PCR are necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19, to study the effectiveness of test systems and optimize diagnosis and etiotropic therapy as well as vaccine modifications.
We studied the interaction of human buccal mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and osteoblasts differentiated from them with the surface of titanium samples. MSCs were isolated by enzymatic method from ...buccal fat pads. The obtained cell culture was presented by MSCs, which was confirmed by flow cytometry and differentiation into adipocytes and osteoblasts. Culturing of buccal MSCs on titanium samples was accompanied by an increase in the number of cells for 15 days and the formation of a developed network of F-actin fibers in the cells. The viability of buccal MSCs decreased by 8 days, but was restored by 15 days. Culturing of osteoblasts obtained as a result of buccal MSC differentiation on the surface of titanium samples was accompanied by a decrease in their viability and proliferation. Thus, MSCs from buccal fat pads can be used to coat implants to improve osseointegration during bone reconstruction in craniofacial surgery and dentistry. To improve the integration of osteoblasts, modification of the surface of titanium samples is required.
Results of the microwave-assisted catalytic pyrolysis of lignin have been described. It has been shown that, in a medium of an inert gas (argon) and a hydrogen–argon mixture, the following maximum ...liquid yield is achieved: 33 and 36% for iron-containing catalyst samples and 45% for nickel-containing catalysts. The gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method has been used to determine the qualitative composition of the liquid product fraction, which is mostly represented by phenol and anisol, i.e., derivatives of the monomeric units of lignin (coumaryl and coniferyl alcohols). Probable sites of interaction of the functional groups of the lignin surface with nanosized particles of nickel- and iron-containing catalysts have been studied by IR spectroscopy.
Titanium oxynitride coatings deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering improve biocompatibility of vascular stents by increasing NO production, viability, and adhesion of EA.hy926 cells. Thus, the ...application of titanium oxynitride coatings is a promising strategy for increasing the biocompatibility of nitinol stents.
