Prezentowane w opracowaniu treści są fragmentem szerzej zakrojonych badań prowadzonych przez autorkę nt. efektywności oddziaływań resocjalizacyjnych wybranych zakładów karnych na terenie naszego ...kraju.W tym opracowaniu wykorzystano wyniki związane z zewnętrzną efektywnością oddziaływań resocjalizacyjnych, w których dużo miejsca poświęcono rekonstrukcji doświadczeń byłych skazanych dokonanych przy zastosowaniu otwartych wywiadów pogłębionych. W przeprowadzonych analizach chodziło o uzyskanie odpowiedzina następujące pytanie: Jakim czynnikom w doświadczaniu izolacji penitencjarnej i osiąganiu powodzenia w resocjalizacji przypisują byli skazani największe znaczenie? Na tak zarysowany obszar eksploracji badawczej składały się dwa pola badawcze skoncentrowane wokół nadawania znaczeń warunkom odbywania kary pozbawienia wolności orazrelacjom interpersonalnym skazanych. Badania dostarczyły bogatego materiału empirycznego pokazującego wielość a czasami również odmienność znaczeń związanych z doświadczaniem izolacji penitencjarnej. Największe jednak znaczenie nadali badani dobrym relacjom z rodziną i innymi najbliższymi osobami a także cechom charakteru przejawiających się w dużej odporności na stres i trudne warunki izolacji penitencjarnej. Mimo że uzyskane rezultaty badawcze ograniczone są doborem próby i nie upoważniają do szerszych uogólnień, to jednak pokazują – wbrew obiegowym opiniom – że resocjalizacja penitencjarna to nie samo zło, to również proces, mający pozytywne aspekty, które z całą pewnością należy odnajdywać i oczywiście rozwijać.
The content presented in the study is an excerpt from a broader research conducted by the author on the effectiveness of social rehabilitation impacts of selected prisons in our country. In this ...study, we used the results related to the external effectiveness of social rehabilitation, in which a lot of space was devoted to reconstructing the experiences of former convicts made with the use of open in-depth interviews. The aim of the analyses was to obtain answers to the following question: What factors in experiencing penitentiary isolation and achieving success in social rehabilitation do former convicts attribute the greatest importance to? The area of research exploration outlined in this way consisted of two research fields focused on giving meaning to the conditions of imprisonment and the interpersonal relations of the convicts. The research provided rich empirical material showing the multiplicity and sometimes also different meanings associated with experiencing penitentiary isolation. However, the greatest importance was given by the subjects to good relations with the family and other closest people as well as character traits manifested in high resistance to stress and difficult conditions of penitentiary isolation. Although the research results obtained are limited in terms of sample selection and do not give rise to wider generalizations, they show - contrary to popular beliefs - that penitentiary rehabilitation is not as bad as it is believed to be, but it is also a process that has positive aspects that must certainly be found and, of course, developed.

Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczny i empiryczny. Jego celem było pokazanie roli edukacji w społecznej adaptacji więźniów zarówno na podstawie przepisów prawnych przed-stawionych w literaturze ...przedmiotu, jak i wyników własnych badań przeprowadzonych wśród skazanych opuszczających jednostki penitencjarne. Analiza wyników badań koncentrowała się w szczególności na zagadnieniach związanych z rodzajem działalności wychowawczej podejmowanej przez skazanych, oceną odbytego szkolenia zawodowego, propozycją zmian w ofercie edukacyjnej oraz ustaleniem prognozy kryminologicznej i społecznej.
The article is of a theoretical and empirical nature. Its aim was to show the role of education in the social re-adaptation of prisoners both from the legal regulations presented in the subject ...literature as well as the results of own research carried out among convicts leaving penitentiary units. The analysis of research results was focused in particular on issues related to the type of educational activity undertaken by convicts, assessment of the received vocational training, proposal of changes in the educational offer as well as on the establishment of a criminological and social forecast being a very important premise of social readaptation of prisoners.
Opracowanie poświęcone jest najważniejszym problemom polskiego więziennictwa oraz najczęściej spotykanym innowacjom podejmowanym w celu minimalizacji tych problemów. Wśród najważniejszych problemów ...zanalizowano przeludnienie zakładów karnych, zjawisko bezrobocia skazanych oraz dezorganizujący wpływ czasu wolnego osadzonych. Z kolei do najczęściej podejmowanych inicjatyw doskonalących współczesny system penitencjarny zaliczono m.in. działania związane ze zwiększeniem powierzchni mieszkalnej (w tym również wykorzystania dozoru elektronicznego) i liczby miejsc pracy, wzrostem wynagrodzenia za pracę, wprowadzaniem metod twórczej resocjalizacji. Ze względu na to, że powyższe inicjatywy mają coraz bardziej powszechny charakter, należy żywić nadzieję, iż przyczyniając się do zmniejszenia istniejących problemów penitencjarnych, spowodują zwiększenie skuteczności oddziaływań resocjalizacyjnych.
The study is devoted to the most important problems of the Polish prison system and most often met innovations taken to the purpose of these minimizations of problems. Among the most important ...problems an overpopulation of penitentiaries was being analyzed, the phenomenon of unemployment of prisoners and disrupting the influence of the leisure time of inmates. Next among others action associated with increasing the residential space was being ranked among most often taken initiatives improving the contemporary penitentiary system (including the use of supervision electronic), with the extension of places of employment and the rise in the remuneration for the work, of implementing methods of the creative social rehabilitation. On account of the fact that these initiatives have more and more universal character from here one should nurse a hope, that contributing to reduce existing penitentiary problems will cause increasing the effectiveness of rehabilitation influences.
Increased bone turnover markers (BTM) level is consider as independent risk factor of bone fracture. However, it was not used in 10-year probability of bone fracture method (FRAX) proposed by WHO, ...which helps in qualification of patients for pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis. The aim of the study was to evaluate the usefulness of BTM in qualification for pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis.
The study was performed in 152 subjects (20 men and 132 women) referred to Krajowe Centrum Osteoporozy. One-hundred thirty two of them were qualified for pharmacological treatment and 20 for prophylaxis on the basis of qualitative method. The following BTM were examined in all patients: of bone formation - N-terminal propeptide of procolagen type I (PINP) and N-mid osteocalcin (OC) and of bone resorption - C-terminal cross-linked telopeptide of collagen type I (CTx).
The values over that considered as independent fracture risk (in women only, no data for men) were found in 39 women with PINP, 39 with OC and 41 with CTx. Part of women had decreased serum BTM (10 women 3 BTM and 35 with 1 at least). There were not significant differences in serum BTM depending on the presence of clinical fracture risk factors: osteoporotic fracture in past, osteoporotic hip fracture in parents, chronic treatment with glucocorticosteroids and qualification for pharmacological treatment on the basis of qualitative and FRAX method. There was no significant difference in the presence of fracture risk factors depending on increased or decreased serum BTM.
Results of the study did not show the practical use of BTM in qualification for pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis.
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of temperature and time of convective drying on the content of fructooligosaccharides (FOS) in apples, plums and strawberries to which FOS had been ...introduced by osmoconcentration. The share of oligosaccharides in total sugars was analyzed. In apple tissue, fructooligosaccharides were stable in the temperature range 40–80 °C during drying for up to 8 h. Convective drying of osmotically dehydrated strawberries caused FOS losses; the FOS retention after 8 h at 80 °C was 40%. In the case of plums, 40% retention was recorded after just two hours at 80 °C. Therefore, in the case of some fruits, obtaining a satisfactory level of fructooligosaccharides in the dried material with the assumed level of dry substance requires the determination of appropriate process parameters.
