Możliwości zastosowania sztucznej inteligencji w sektorze energetycznym są dziś szerokie. Ogromna ilość danych przechodzących przez ten sektor stwarza potrzebę wdrażania automatycznej, inteligentnej ...analizy oraz potencjał rozwoju tych technologii. Chcąc zapewnić bezpieczeństwo energetyczne rozumiane jako zapewnienie ciągłości dostaw energii i paliw, należy mieć pełną kontrolę nad ich dystrybucją i możliwymi zagrożeniami. Korzyści płynące z kontroli nad danymi, prognozowania kluczowych w tym sektorze wartości czy optymalizacji działań i operacji na sieci są nieocenione. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przegląd konkretnych obszarów energetyki, w których metody obliczeniowe i sztuczna inteligencja mają największy potencjał. Ponadto, wskazanie konkretnych metod, które sprawdzone w innych sektorach lub zbadane w nauce mają zastosowanie również tutaj.
The subject of this paper is the ethical, legal and social implications of the use of artificial intelligence systems. The problem of regulating the operation of AI systems is an important research ...issue, particularly in the context of their increasing use and the numerous risks involved, such as those related to discrimination and the protection of fundamental rights. Research in this area was made possible by the European Commission’s presentation of a draft regulation on artificial intelligence. It was necessary to explore and examine it in the light of the methodological instruments classically used in the discipline of legal sciences, with particular emphasis on the formal-dogmatic method and with an assessment of the practical dimension of the institutions analysed in the project. In order to ensure the clarity of the study, essential parts of the considerations were separated, such as general and specific issues, within which specific elements of the draft act were analysed. The aim of the research was to determine whether the draft regulation provides effective protection of fundamental rights and the creation of safe, reliable and ethically sound mechanisms of artificial intelligence. This issue has not yet been comprehensively analysed in the Polish literature. The article is a valuable contribution of the Polish doctrine to the analysis of the draft act and proposes necessary directions for changes.
Paper presents opportunities to take advantage of knowledge of higher technical personnel with Biomedical Engineering specialty as a partner of both doctors and medias representatives in the health ...communication. It was shown that such partnership is necessary when building patient’s trust for the innovations in medicine. It was also proven how underestimated factor in health communication is properly handled documentation and allowing patients to access it remotely. Conclusions was backed by specific examples of innovations in medicine and means to inform patients about them.

Intensive development of medical sciences and information technology, and their cooperation offers new opportunities and sets course of action for complex healthcare and human life protection. With ...the development of equipment capabilities, the emergence of new sensors and advancement of information technology, the emergence of applications supporting life and health protection, ensuring both the healthcare and human protection against various threats, can be observed. Especially in an aging society a huge demand for this type of products and services is visible, and that niche in the market is still not filled. In this paper several existing systems of remote medical care are analyzed and a concept of the constructed system of own authorship is presented.
The paper presents the use of telemedicine in intelligent supporting of otorhinolaryngologist in the diagnosis of auditory brainsteam responses. This test is easy to visualize but difficult to ...diagnose. The presented software system uses advanced methods of signal processing and an author’s algorithm supporting the doctor by setting the characteristic points of the examination and reach the diagnosis. This paper describes the capabilities of the system and underline the benefits which are result of the nature of this application. It also highlights the benefits and opportunities introduced to this field of medicine by the described intelligent software system.
Most researchers focused on particular result ignore intermediate stages of learning process of neural networks. However some "immature" neurons exhibit behavior that can be interpreted as source of ..."artificial dreams". Article presents examples of simple neural networks with capabilities which might explain the origins of dreams and myths.
At present two main methods of examination of the human hearing system are applied. The first one is based on close cooperation between the physician and the patient and its examination result is the ...classical audiogram. The second one, which is an objective method, comprises the analysis of the auditory brainstem response (ABR) signals. In the second case the cooperation between the physician and the examined patient with hearing impairments is not necessary. The present paper contains a description of a method allowing a construction of a system evaluating the patient's hearing abilities in an automated manner, without the necessary presence of highly trained audiological staff. The system leads to elimination of a subjective human factor from the diagnostic process. It should be noticed that diagnosis of human hearing impairment based on the registration of ABR signals and the analysis of the morphology of the recording as well as the latency periods and amplitudes of individual waves as functions of the stimulus intensity is very difficult and requires extensive practice. The ABR potentials emerge as electrophysiological reaction to an acoustic stimulus, usually being a short crack, or a tone, the intensity of which is gradually decreasing during the examination. After completing the examination a series of recording is obtained. Each ABR recording usually contains three to five dominant maxima. The amplitudes and latency periods of these maxima depend on the stimulus type and its intensity as well as the patient's age, sex and type of the hearing impairment. It is widely assumed that the hearing threshold coincides with the extinction of the fifth wave. The system described below operates in sequential mode, ie. at first the acquisition of the ABR signal is done, then the data are subject to preprocessing and in the next stage the analysis of the data is carried out. It has been implemented on the Pocet PC platform in connection together with "Kuba micro" device.
