Tourism in the Eastern Partnership countries experienced a sinuous evolution in the post-Soviet period. The abandonment of the classic circuits, economic stagnation, the shock suffered after the ...events and periods of political crisis, and lately, the frozen activity during the health crisis, make resilience a way of being of the actors in this field. The paper aims at a systematic analysis of studies targeting the forms of tourism in the Eastern Partnership countries, highlighting the development models followed, the areas of tourist concentration and the recommended strategies. From a methodological point of view, the research was staged, having an initial quantitative approach, and then a qualitative one - a content analysis highlighting the key guidelines of the analysed studies. The conclusions of the article aim at mapping the research areas covered by the articles studied, while highlighting the intensely frequented areas and the „white” areas.
Gender equality, enshrined in European treaties, is one of the fundamental values of the European Union. It is a focal point in today’s value systems as well as national, sectorial and organizational ...policies, and it is also a recurrent theme thoroughly used also represent the focus of our investigation of ‘gender balance’. In this paper we look atthe Romanian HEIs to determine the level of gender balance in Romanian HEIs in general, and then we concentrate our attention on the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (UAIC) as a representative case study for the Romanian HEIs. Finally, we highlight the role that research and development projects may play in promoting gender balance at UAIC. In this regard, the paper employs a multi method approach based on quantitative analyses and interviews. The results reveal that women are well represented in academic and research positions both within the Romanian HEIs and in the UACI, with two exceptions: full professor rankand R&D project manager, these being dominated, in general, by men.
The sustainable development of the tourism in the Eastern Partnership countries is closely dependent on solving problems of common interest that can be managed only by promoting bilateral or ...multilateral cooperation relations. Thus, appropriate policies regarding the following areas can be adopted: integrated management of the borders and of the movement of people (tourists), integrated management of the environment and of the ecosystems, the interconnection of the transport networks, the development and integration of regional tourist markets under the conditions of environmental protection and cultural heritage preservation, the promotion of good practices in terms of sustainability in tourism.
The present study aims to identify and analyse the implications of the initiatives adopted within the European Neighbourhood Policy on the sustainable development of tourism. For this purpose the authors made use of programming documents and reports of the European Commission, as well as statistical reports on tourism development in these countries.
Every organization, regardless of its size and field of activity, has its own organizational culture, which depends on its evolution, problem-solving approaches, and managerial practices. Current ...theories define this organizational culture as the main cause of success or failure of organizational strategies. The first step in addressing dysfunctions regarding organizational performance is understanding how specific traits of an organization influence and even determine the behavior of each individual, as well as collective behavior. To analyze the culture of an organization, researchers and consulting firms use various tools, typically applicable to large companies. The purpose of this study is to adapt the method of organizational DNA and its operationalization as a testing tool for traits and behaviors specific to veterinary practices, in order to identify and isolate the underlying causes of organizational dysfunctions and contribute to their elimination before they manifest.

This study aims to shed more light on the issues of financing small and medium enterprises (SMEs), by means of the analysis of patterns and relationships that characterize SMEs, relevant sources of ...their financing and determinants of their financing decisions. In this respect, cluster analysis was used to investigate the existence of significant differences between European countries in terms of SMEs’ financing. Besides, the paper analyses the impact of financing sources and various determinant factors on the initiation, development and solving of financial problems of SMEs by means of fixed effects panel linear regression models. The results obtained largely confirm authors' expectations, highlighting significant differences between the clusters and the significant influence of the relevance of bank credit, internal sources of financing, government grants and internationalization of the economy on the initiation, development and solving of financial problems of SMEs.
Today's world comes with numerous challenges, especially in the educational space. New technologies and the virtual environment bring changes in values, attitudes, and behaviors, creating the ...premises for redefining the educational process on the one hand, and on the other hand, generating interest in the use of game elements in non-play contexts through gamification. The specialized literature supports this orientation by presenting the benefits and the problems that need to be addressed for better integration of gamification in university environments. One of the important issues highlighted is the need to adapt to cultural specificity, which is related to resistance to change, the nature of motivation, and the degree of appreciation for cooperation or competition, among other factors.
Changes that occur in the socio-economic environment determine new challenges for individuals that strive to acquire new, more valuable competencies. The universities, considered one of the most ...important pillars in developing such competencies, are challenged to develop and harmonize different forms of education (formal, informal and non-formal) in order to respond to individuals’ and organizations’ needs. The mixture of learning forms can bring competitive advantage for the universities. However mixing the learning forms is not so easy to accomplish, considering that the stakeholders’ requirements could be divergent and the resources are limited. This paper aims at presenting the advantages and disadvantages of these forms of learning and also outlines few examples of the interferences.
Romania has aligned itself with objectives related to the conservation and protection of biodiversity, the safeguarding of natural habitats, and the protection of wild species by identifying and ...assessing Natura 2000 sites. These are recognized and protected not only at the European level but also internationally. They can be connected to broader ecological networks, such as the PanEuropean Ecological Corridors and international biodiversity protection networks, playing a significant role in promoting sustainable development by integrating nature conservation with socioeconomic activities. Additionally, they provide opportunities for biodiversity conservation, sustainable resource utilization, tourism development, and involvement of local communities. The study aims to identify the main forms of tourism practiced, as well as those with potential within the 15 Natura 2000 sites in the North-East region of Romania. In a comparative manner, it highlights best practices and measures necessary for promoting ecotourism and other sustainable economic activities that support nature conservation.
The long-term goals set for the post-2020 EaP policy are oriented to support economic resilience. Due to its peculiarities, tourism has proved to be one of the most sensitive economic sectors to the ...manifestation of multiple crisis experiences. The present study aims to: study and identify the effects of crises on tourism competitiveness and performances in Eastern Partnership countries; to identify measures by which the European Union authorities intend to counteract the effects of crises and improve the response capacity of governments and tourism companies; and to identify actions through which the tourism industry can improve its capacity to manage the various crisis phenomena. To achieve these objectives, the authors used European Commission programmatic documents and reports, statistical reports, data and information on the effects of crises on the activity of the tourism industry in EAP countries. In the frame of the partnership and cooperation relations between the European Union and the EaP countries, special attention has been paid to the support measures established to counteract the negative effects of the pandemic crisis.
The research aims to investigate the dynamics of organizational change within a higher education institution. The assessment focuses on main areas such as quality of change communication, levels of ...participation, top management attitudes toward change, supervisor support, trust in leadership, politicking behaviors, cohesion within institution members, and scrutinizing the emotional, cognitive, and intentional readiness for change. The study, which was conducted at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, focused on higher institution professors as respondents. Using Google Forms for data collection, insights were gathered with an adapted survey instrument (Bouckenooghe, Devos and Van den Broeck, 2008) that served as a validated instrument to assess the organizational climate of change initiatives, considering key factors such as leadership support and communication effectiveness. Using this methodology, we aimed to understand the dynamics of successful change implementation and identify the change readiness within the institution. The findings hold implications for higher education institutions seeking to refine their strategies for managing change, fostering a collaborative culture, and effectively engaging institution members in the intricate process of organizational change.
