In the wake of 11 September 2001 not only the scope and the goals of terrorism drastically expanded but also the circle of social groups and institutions it encroaches upon. The essence of the ...'classical' terrorism is aptly summarized by the old Chinese adage: 'kill one, scare hundreds'. The attack on the WTC altered these numbers not only for that attack but also for most terrorist attacks all over the world, so this aphorism might now run: 'kill thousands, scare billions'. If the classical terrorism was a sort of a 'trio' whose participants were 'terrorists + their victims + power', contemporary terrorism increasingly takes the form of a 'quartet': 'terrorists + their victims + power + mass media'. Oglašivanje je jedan od ključnih faktora za stimuliranje procesa razmjene te za normalno djelovanje tržišta i njegovih zakona. Oglašivači imaju na raspolaganju puno načina i mogućnosti kojima
...pokušavaju privući pažnju potencijalnih potrošača. Zbog sve veće konkurencije na tržištu često posežu za novim načinima oglašivanja koji nisu uvijek u skladu sa zakonom i etičnim djelovanjem. Jedan od tih načina jest i prikriveno oglašivanje. U ovom radu analiziramo prikriveno oglašivanje kao primjer neetičnog djelovanja medija jer prikrivene oglasne poruke predstavljaju jedan od najočiglednijih problema na medijskom tržištu. Uz pomoć spoznaja iz literature definiramo pojam prikrivenog oglašivanja. Cilj je našeg rada i povezivanje društvenih okolnosti koje su uzrok prikrivenog oglašivanja s promjenama medijskih diskurzivnih praksi.

With the rise and rapid spread of the Internet and other digital communication technologies, mass media have been supplemented and to a certain amount substituted by interactive and often ...personalized media. The Internet itself-approached here not only as a technological platform but also as a set of socially and culturally defined practices-has undergone a transformation from a medium primarily focused on Web-based storage and delivery of information to a medium allowing user-generated content (Drotner and Schrøder 2010) and integrating mass (one-to-many), interpersonal (one-to-one) and network (many-to-many) communication (Jensen 2010). O'Reilly (2005) has termed this a shift from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0. Similarly, Jenkins (2006) has noticed a shift toward media convergence and participatory culture: Technologies are integrated even more smoothly, and services are accessed by even wider populations in order to create and share content (see also Delwiche and Henderson 2013). Bruns (2008) has suggested the term "produsage" to address the fusion of production and consumption in the different types of user-generated content. Although these statements mostly address Internet transformations, it should be noted that it is the whole media and communication ecology that is under change, including the "traditional" media and their audiences (e.g., Evans 2011; Krotz and Hepp 2012; Lundby 2009; Rudin 2011). In light of the ongoing socio-technological developments that create (and are created by) changing audience practices, new challenges emerge for audience research, and they are most notably apparent in the need for appropriate research methodologies.
A consequence of the growing dynamics of the media market is the increased influence of advertisers manifested in, among other things, disguised advertising. As most Croatian citizens cannot see ...through advertisements that masquerade as ordinary articles, disguised advertising is increasingly evident in the content of the Croatian media. This manipulation of readers affects the citizens' trust in the media. On the basis of comparative analyses of the classical and the disguised advertising, this paper brings the results of the content analysis of two most influential Croatian dailies: in December of 2006 there were 327 texts with the elements of disguised advertising. imati znatne posljedice i utjecati na povjerenje građana u medije. Nakon usporedne analize klasičnoga oglašavanja i prikrivenoga oglašavanja u radu donosimo rezultate istraživanja primjenom znanstvene metode analize sadržaja dviju najutjecajnijih hrvatskih dnevnih novina, u kojima je u prosincu 2006. godine otkriveno 327 tekstova s elementima prikrivenoga oglašavanja.

This study was designed to compare the effectiveness of small-sided handball games in combination with handball training (SSG group) versus high-intensity interval training in combination with ...handball training (HIIT group) on physical performance of young female handball players during pre-competitive period. Twenty-four young female handball players, who have a 6.17 ± 1.54 years training experience and competition in the national league participated in this study. SSG group (n = 12; age 16.06 ± 0.80 years, body mass 61.27 ± 3.68 kg, body height 1.64 ± 4.7 m, body mass index 22.7 kg/m
) while HIIT group (n = 12; 16.20 ± 1.28 years, body mass 62.46 ± 7.86 kg, body height 1.68 ± 6.8 m, body mass index 22 kg/m
). Both groups applied training programs twice-a-week for 8 weeks. Before and after the training programs physical performances were assessed: Countermovement jump (CMJ), Squat jump (SJ), Sprint on 0-10 m; Sprint on 0-20 m; Sprint on 0-30 m, Throwing medicine ball and total distance covered during the Yo-YoIRT1. After 8 weeks SSG and HIIT groups significantly improved CMJ, SJ, 0-20 m sprint, 0-30 m sprint, throwing medicine ball and Yo-YoIRT1 (p ≤ 0.05). However, significantly greater improvement was achieved in Yo-YoIRT1 (m) in HIIT group (28.40%) than SSG group (17.63%). These results indicate that SSG group and HIIT group equally improve of physical performances (jump, sprint and upper explosive strength) among young female handball players in pre-competitive period.
