The paper deals with the possibilities of using specialized (virtual labs and simulators, software for natural process simulation) and general (programming languages and libraries, spreadsheets, CAS) ...software in school researches.Such software as virtual labs, software for natural process simulation, programming languages and libraries in school researches can be used to simulate phenomena that cannot be learned in a school lab (for example, for modeling a radioactive decay or for demonstrating the states of relativistic mechanics). Also, virtual labs in school practice are usually used in those cases where students cannot perform an experiment in real labs. For example, it is convenient for distance learning.The using of programming languages and libraries in physics learning research requires both students’ physics research competencies and programming competencies. That is why using this software in physics classes can hardly be recommended. However, programming languages and libraries can become a powerful tool for the formation and development of research competencies of physics students in extracurricular learning activities.The implementation of the spreadheets and the CAS in school physics researches is the easiest and has its benefits.
It is shown that the calculation of scientometric indicators of the scientist and also the scientific journal continues to be an actual problem nowadays. It is revealed that the leading scientometric ...databases have the capabilities of automated metadata collection from the scientific journal website by the use of specialized electronic document management systems, in particular Open Journal Systems. It is established that Open Journal Systems successfully exports metadata about an article from scientific journals to scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. However, there is no standard method of export from Open Journal Systems to such scientometric databases as the Russian Science Citation Index and Index Copernicus, which determined the need for research. The aim of the study is to develop the plug-in to the Open Journal Systems for the export of data from this system to scientometric database Russian Science Citation Index. As a result of the study, an infological model for exporting metadata from Open Journal Systems to the Russian Science Citation Index was proposed. The SirenExpo plug-in was developed to export data from Open Journal Systems to the Russian Science Citation Index by the use of the Articulus release preparation system.

The article substantiates the necessity to develop training methods of computer simulation of neural networks in the spreadsheet environment. The systematic review of their application to simulating ...artificial neural networks is performed. The authors distinguish basic approaches to solving the problem of network computer simulation training in the spreadsheet environment, joint application of spreadsheets and tools of neural network simulation, application of third-party add-ins to spreadsheets, development of macros using the embedded languages of spreadsheets; use of standard spreadsheet add-ins for non-linear optimization, creation of neural networks in the spreadsheet environment without add-ins and macros. After analyzing a collection of writings of 1890-1950, the research determines the role of the scientific journal "Bulletin of Mathematical Biophysics", its founder Nicolas Rashevsky and the scientific community around the journal in creating and developing models and methods of computational neuroscience. There are identified psychophysical basics of creating neural networks, mathematical foundations of neural computing and methods of neuroengineering (image recognition, in particular). The role of Walter Pitts in combining the descriptive and quantitative theories of training is discussed. It is shown that to acquire neural simulation competences in the spreadsheet environment, one should master the models based on the historical and genetic approach. It is indicated that there are three groups of models, which are promising in terms of developing corresponding methods - the continuous two-factor model of Rashevsky, the discrete model of McCulloch and Pitts, and the discrete-continuous models of Householder and Landahl.
The ab initio approach is developed that allows predicting structural changes, which can be induced by Plasma Immersion Ion Implantation (PIII) of Ag ions into Mg based alloys. The calculations are ...performed in the framework of the density functional theory. The approach is based on the assumption that the electronic properties of the irradiated parent phase predetermine the structural characteristics of a new implantation-induced phase. It is presumed that penetration of the implanted ions into the host lattice leads, firstly, to “immediate” excitation of the electronic subsystem of the parent phase. Then this initial stage is followed by changes of the atomic configuration so that the electronic subsystem transfers to the relaxed state. To characterize and to quantify how the initial non-equilibrium state is far from the quasi-relaxed state of the system, the energy parameter ΔE is proposed. The behaviour of ΔE plot vs. different concentrations of implanted ions correlates with the conditions of formation of the new phase. The correctness of the proposed approach was corroborated by ab-initio analysis of the experimentally observed phase transitions Mg + Agions → MgAg and Mg17Al12 + Agions → Mg54Al28Ag18 induced by PIII treatment.

The degradation of In 2 O 3 (110) surface as a working surface in the In 2 O 3 -based sensor is studied. Theoretical and experimental investigations of electronic and atomic processes on this surface ...caused by the adsorption H 2 of molecules are performed. In the framework of the density functional theory, we determined the energetically preferable position of the adsorbed H 2 molecule over In 2 O 3 surface. It was found that the adsorbed H 2 molecule is mainly "bonded" with In atom. The redistribution of the electron density around In atom leads to a weakening of chemical bonds in the vicinity of In atom, and this circumstance is a reason of its destabilization. The temperature dependence of the resistance In 2 O 3 of films in a wide interval of temperatures was measured. This dependence is characterized by a specific maximum. The obtained experimental results are interpreted using theoretical results concerning a destabilization of surface In atoms induced by the adsorbed H 2 molecules and, on the basis of our recent results in an earlier paper, concerning a high-temperature degradation of the In 2 O 3 (110) surface layers as a working surface in sensor devices. We suggested a two-stage model of the degradation process: In the first stage, the disordering of surface caused by H 2 -adsorption-stimulated displacement of In atoms leads to the increase of surface resistance, and in the second stage, displaced In atoms form precipitates and this process causes a metallization In 2 O 3 of surface and a decrease of the resistance.
