The FU Orionis type of variable star (FUor), V1057 Cygni, underwent a nova-like outburst in 1969-1970. Among the FUors, V1057 Cyg is notable for having the most dramatic post-maximum decrease in ...brightness. Thus, photometric monitoring of this object is important for interpretations of the cause of this event. Here, we study the behaviour of V1057 Cyg over the last 25 years on the basis of our optical and infrared observations. The optical and near-infrared observations of V1057 Cyg started in 1974, and we present all our data (up to the end of 2011), including 1085 and 167 nights of optical and infrared photometry, respectively. The UBVRIJHKLM light curves for 1985-2011 show that despite the increased photometric activity, after a rapid decrease in brightness in the mid-1990s, the average level of brightness remained practically constant. After the object becomes fainter than V 11.5 mag, a swerve appears in the track of the colour-magnitude diagram. The light variability shows a different periodicity in different spectral regions. We have discovered a period of 1631 ± 60 d in the BVR bands (1995-2011) and 523 ± 40 d in the RIJHK bands (2002-2011) with amplitudes of 0.5-0.3 mag. The 523-d period is presumably correlated with the changes in the radial velocity of an emission component in Li i. We conclude that the observed properties of the FUor star V1057 Cyg are in accordance with current models of FUors involving binary or multiple systems.
A set of 20 composites was prepared by pyrolysis of Co2+ complexes with 1,10‐phenanthroline, melamine and 1,2‐diaminobenzene. These composites were tested as the catalysts for the hydrogenation of ...quinolines. As shown by powder X‐ray diffraction and TEM, the composited contained Co particles of several dozen nm sizes. The composition (elements content), Raman spectra X‐ray photoelectron spectra parameters of the composites were analyzed. It was found that there was no distinct factor that controlled the yield of 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroquinolines in the investigated process. The yields of the respective products were in the range 90–100 %. The three most active composites were selected for scale‐up and hydrogenation of a series of substituted quinolines. Up to 97 % yield of 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroquinoline was obtained on a 50 g scale. Five representative substituted quinolines were synthesized on a 10–20 grams scale using the Co‐containing composites as the catalysts.
Composites containing Co nanoparticles and graphene‐like carbonaceous particles on a SiO2 support were prepared and tested as the catalysts for the hydrogenation of quinoline by H2. 1,2,3,4‐Tetrahydroquinoline was synthesized on a 50 g scale, and five substituted quinolines were prepared on a 10–20 gram scale. The composites are good alternative to platinum group metal catalysts for hydrogenation processes.

To evaluate the use of terlipressin for intraoperative bleeding reduction in functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS).
This prospective, randomized, single-center, single-blinded cohort study ...included 74 cases of FESS performed under general anesthesia (GA). The patients were randomized into two groups: WT (without terlipressin, n = 39) and T (with 200 μg terlipressin, n = 35). Bleeding intensity (BI) was assessed using a 6-point scale. Heart rate (HR), mean blood pressure (MBP), perfusion index (PI), and BI were recorded at 10, 30, and 60 min after surgery. A BI score ≥2 qualified as significant.
The T group had significantly higher MBP compared with the WT group, but HR values did not differ significantly. PI and BI scores were significantly reduced in the T group compared with the WT group. The risk of significant bleeding in the treatment group was 35.5 times lower (odds ratio OR, 0.028; 95% confidence interval CI, 0.006-0.138) at 30 min and 7.1 times lower (OR, 0.140; 95% CI, 0.049-0.402) at 60 min. The prognostic model for significant bleeding at 60 min showed that only terlipressin played a significant role in bleeding control (p < 0.05). The model predicted a 13.9-fold decrease in significant bleeding risk in the T group.
Low doses (200 μg) of terlipressin reduced intraoperative bleeding without decreasing blood pressure during FESS under GA.

The occurrence of tracheal fistulas of ischemic genesis combined with the failure of esophagogastroanastomosis and the communication between them is a rare and formidable complication after ...esophagectomy with mediastinal lymphadenectomy due to its anatomical position and extensiveness. However, it is insufficiently documented in the literature, both in terms of treatment and in terms of its causes. This observation aims to demonstrate the rare cause of this complication and the atypical successful treatment. In this case, a patient with squamous cell carcinoma G2 of the middle third of the esophagus and TNM stage cT3NxM0. On the McKeown thoracoscopic-laparotomy esophagectomy intraoperatively a short arterial vessel with a diameter of about 3 mm, which passed through the paracancerous infiltration and supplied blood to the esophagus and trachea revealed. The vessel was not isolated from the infiltrate, but was clipped and crossed between the aorta and infiltrate to maintain surgery ablastic. On the 7th day after the operation the insolvency of esophagogastroanastomosis, the fistula of the trachea with mediastinum and the communication between the leak of esophagogastroanastomosis and the fistula of the trachea were diagnosed. We consider this combination as a special case of esophagogastroanastomosis fistula, complicated by the communication between the right pleural cavity and pneumothorax. According to our experience, partial leak of esophagogastroanastomosis successfully heals by secondary tension within 10–15 days against the background of cervicotomic wound drainage and feeding through a nasointestinal tube. In this case there was a leak of saliva in the mediastinum and its penetration into the lumen of the trachea and the right pleural cavity. Surgical diversion of the fistula and stenting of the trachea were considered, but not applied, as the fistula in our opinion was controlled, but the aggressive content of the gastric conduit prevented healing. The patient was on assisted lung ventilation with minimal pressure support and inflow increased oxygen fractio. For this reason, we considered the best stenting of the esophagogastroanastomosis leak area to be covered with a stent in order to stop the aggressive content of the gastric stem from entering the fistula, which led to the successful treatment of the developed severe complication. It should be noted that this method of treatment may be ineffective in patients who need pressure support during ventilation.
The purpose of the study.
To evaluate the immediate and long–term results of the introduction of nerve‑s paring radical hysterectomy into the practice of the center, namely, the frequency of ...complications, duration of surgery, blood loss, genitourinary disorders and compare the data obtained with the data of the world literature on this issue.
Patients and methods.
In the period from August 2019 to October 2022, 55 patients diagnosed with cervical carcinoma who underwent nerve‑ sparing radical hysterectomy type III/C1 were treated in the conditions of the regional clinical oncological dispensary. The age category ranged from 31 to 69 years, the average age was 47.3 years. The following postoperative indicators were analyzed: duration of surgery, blood loss, amount of residual urine, duration of hospital stay after surgery, complications, mortality, number of lymph nodes examined. The analysis of long‑term oncological results in patients with a follow‑up period of more than 12 months (42–12 months) was carried out, the frequency of relapses, the frequency of progression, and mortality from progression were estimated.
Results.
The obtained postoperative averages, such as: the duration of the operation, amounted to 286 minutes; blood loss – 216.1 ml, the volume of residual urine on the 5th day 52.4 ml, the duration of hospital stay after surgery 11.1 days, complications of the II degree according to Clavien–Dindo – 3.6 %, complications of the III degree according to Clavien‑ Dindo – 3.6 %, there was no postoperative mortality, the number of lymph nodes examined was 18.3. During the follow‑up period, the recurrence rate was 0 %, relapse‑free survival was 91 %, progression and mortality from progression were 7 % and 3.5 (4 and 2 patients), respectively. The effectiveness of the implementation of the methodology was evaluated by comparing it with the data given in the world literature on a similar issue. At the same time, it was found that the duration of the operation, blood loss, the frequency of complications and genitourinary disorders, the frequency of relapse and progression did not differ significantly from the data of the international literature.
Conclusion.
The introduction of the technology of nerve‑ sparing hysterectomy of the uterus type III/C1, in cervical cancer surgery is relatively safe and approachable in a regional oncology hospital.
A series of composites containing nanoparticles of NiO (from 1 to 10% by weight per Ni), deposited on NORIT charcoal, was prepared by the decomposition of the Ni0 complex Ni(cod)2 (cod = ...cis,cis-1,5-cyclooctadiene). Ni content in the composites was set by loading the appropriate quantities of the Ni(cod)2 precursor. The catalytic activity of the composites was associated with the in situ generation of active sites due to a reduction in NiO, hence the composites could be stored in air without a loss in their catalytic performance. The composites were analyzed by powder XRD, TEM, XPS, and adsorption methods. The hydrogenation of quinoline was used as a reference reaction for studies of the influence of temperature, P(H2), catalyst loading on the product yield, and for the selection of the composite possessing the highest performance. It was found that 3% Ni loading was the most optimal. This composite was used as an efficient catalyst for the hydrogenation of compounds with ethylene and acetylene bonds, nitro- and keto- groups as well as a series of substituted quinolines and analogs. The studied composites can be proposed as air-stable and efficient catalysts for the hydrogenation of a wide range of organic compounds.
Generalized periodontitis is accompanied by progressive bone atrophy of the alveolar process of the jaws. The first signs of osteoporosis appear in the alveolar process already in the early stages. ...Complex treatment of generalized periodontitis includes, first of all, an etiopathogenetic approach. The object of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of biotherapeutic correction of osteoporosis of the alveolar processes of the jaws in the complex treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis adding melatonin and vitamin D. The study involved 121 patients aged from 26-40 years with generalized periodontitis of initial-I and I stages with a chronic course, and 45 apparently healthy volunteers from the control group. All patients gave voluntary informed consent to participate in the study. Groups of patients were randomized approximately by same age and gender. Before onset of treatment and 6 months after the complex treatment the level of vitamin D and melatonin level was measured and examined for osteoporosis using a cone-beam computed tomography. In order to give a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the state of mineralization of the spongy and compact bone tissue of the alveolar processes of the jaws histographic analysis of computed tomography was used. 55 patients in addition to traditional local treatment were added vitamin D intake of 4000 IU/d with meals and melatonin intake of 1.5 mg at bedtime for 1 month. It was stated, that level of melatonin in saliva is inversely proportional to the level of vitamin D in the blood serum in patients with generalized periodontitis and patients from the group with clinically healthy periodontium. Using melatonin and vitamin D in the complex of treatment of patients with generalized periodontitis leads to an increase X-ray density of bone tissue of the alveolar processes of the jaws, which allows to achieve restoration of bone density of alveolar processes and longer stabilization of dystrophic – inflammatory process in the periodontium. To strengthen the bone tissue of the alveolar processes of the jaws in patients with generalized periodontitis, it is advisable to use melatonin and vitamin D in a complex treatment.
We present the results of our UBV JHKLM photometric and spectroscopic observations of V407 Cyg obtained in 2003–2015. No fast brightness variations of V407 Cyg have been detected since its RS ...Oph-type outburst in 2010. Now the binary demonstrates a low-excitation emission spectrum with Hα weaker than the N II 6584 Å line. It is a typical spectrum on the way to the passive state.
