The removal of carbon dioxide (CO2) at offshore operation requires an absorption system with an environmentally friendly solvent that can operate at elevated pressure. Potassium carbonate promoted ...with glycine, PCGLY, is a green solvent that has potential for offshore applications. For high solvent concentrations at elevated pressure, the by-product of CO2 absorption consists of precipitates that increase operational difficulty. Therefore, this study was done to assess the CO2 absorption performance of non-precipitated PCGLY with concentration 15wt%PC+3wt%GLY, which is known to have comparable solubility performance with MDEA. A packed absorption column was used to identify the CO2 removal efficiency, mass transfer coefficient in liquid film, k l a e , and overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient, K G a v . A simplified rate-based model was used to determine k l a e and K G a v based on the experimental data with a maximum MAE value, 0.057. The results showed that liquid flow rates and liquid temperature gives significant effects on the k l a e and K G a v profile, whereas gas flow rate and operating pressure had little effect. The CO2 removal efficiency of PCGLY was found to be 77%, which was only 2% lower than 1.2 kmol/m3 MDEA. K G a v of PCGLY is comparable with MDEA. The absorption process using PCGLY shows potential in the CO2 sweetening process at offshore.

High frequency ultrasonic-assisted absorption in a batch system has shown significant enhancement for CO2 removal. Nevertheless, its performance in continuous mode has yet to be studied. A novel continuous high frequency ultrasonic contactor system for CO2 capture has been developed to study the effect of gas flow rate (15–25SLPM), liquid flow rate (0.1–0.5SLPM), pressure (10–50bar) and voltage (0–30V) on the absorption performance. A validated quadratic model was developed, and the optimum condition was identified using central composite design coupled with response surface methodology. Based on the results, current system demonstrated better absorption performance as compared to other contactors.
Today, machine learning is utilized in several industries, including tourism, hospitality, and the hotel industry. This project uses machine learning approaches such as classification to predict ...hotel customers’ loyalty and develop viable strategies for managing and structuring customer relationships. The research is conducted using the CRISP-DM technique, and the three chosen classification algorithms are random forest, logistic regression, and decision tree. This study investigated key characteristics of merchants’ customers’ behavior, interest, and preference using a real-world case study with a hotel booking dataset from the C3 Rewards and C3 Merchant systems. Following a comprehensive investigation of prospective preferences in the pre-processing phase, the best machine learning algorithms are identified and assessed for forecasting customer loyalty in the hotel business. The study's outcome was recorded and examined further before hotel operators utilized it as a reference. The chosen algorithms are developed utilizing Python programming language, and the analysis result is evaluated using the Confusion Matrix, specifically in terms of precision, recall, and F1-score. At the end of the experiment, the accuracy values generated by the logistic regression, decision tree, and random forest algorithms were 57.83%, 71.44%, and 69.91%, respectively. To overcome the limits of this study method, additional datasets or upgraded algorithms might be utilized better to understand each algorithm's benefits and limitations and achieve further advancement.Â
In the quest for net zero carbon emissions by 2050, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) is indispensable. The development of more efficient CO2 capture processes is essential. ...High-frequency ultrasonic irradiation is an emerging, intensified technique that can enhance the CO2 absorption process. To advance this technology toward commercialization, it is crucial to conduct a thorough economic analysis to allow the identification of the key cost component. While equipment sizing is essential in this economic assessment, there is a lack of numerical models for estimating the size and power consumption of ultrasonic absorbers. This study introduces a numerical model for these predictions. The model was then used to determine the economic feasibility of this emerging technique against the packed bed columns based on capital expenditure (CAPEX), operational expenditure (OPEX), and unit technical cost (UTC) for 20 years of plant operation. According to the economic analysis, ultrasonic intensification requires 34% less CAPEX due to its compact design. Although its OPEX is 11% higher due to the additional electricity needed for the ultrasonic transducers, the UTC is still 3% lower than the conventional packed bed column, demonstrating a potential cost savings in implementing the ultrasonic irradiation-assisted technique during the CO2 absorption process offshore.
Feature selection is a process to select the best feature among huge number of features in dataset, However, the problem in feature selection is to select a subset that give the better performs under ...some classifier. In producing better classification result, feature selection been applied in many of the classification works as part of preprocessing step; where only a subset of feature been used rather than the whole features from a particular dataset. This procedure not only can reduce the irrelevant features but in some cases able to increase classification performance due to finite sample size. In this study, Chi-Square (CH), Information Gain (IG) and Bat Algorithm (BA) are used to obtain the subset features on fourteen well-known dataset from various applications. To measure the performance of these selected features three benchmark classifier are used; k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN), Naïve Bayes (NB) and Decision Tree (DT). This paper then analyzes the performance of all classifiers with feature selection in term of accuracy, sensitivity, F-Measure and ROC. The objective of these study is to analyse the outperform feature selection techniques among conventional and heuristic techniques in various applications.

absorption performance using a green solvent, potassium carbonate promoted with glycine (PCGLY). Recently, the ...performance of this solvent (with precipitates) was hindered by its poor mass transfer performance due to the blockage in packings and piping. Therefore, this study focused to study the CO2 absorption performance of non-precipitating potassium carbonate promoted with glycine. This green solvent contains aqueous blend of 15wt% potassium carbonate and 3 wt% glycine. The absorption performance of the solvent was obtained by demonstrated a few experimental works using a bench scale packed absorption column. The packing type was Sulzer metal gauze and the column consisted of six sampling point which located equidistance along the packing. The effect of CO2 concentration at the gas feed was assessed in term of its CO2 removal efficiency and concentration profile along the packing. The study shows the decreasing trend of CO2 removal as CO2 inlet concentration in the gas feed increases. The reason of this behavior is due to the limited reactant of liquid phase to absorb high CO

Chemical absorption is the most common technology used for the process of CO2 removal from natural gas due to its ability to reduce the level of the acid gas to a very low level as well as higher ...mass transfer performance due to the chemical kinetic reaction. Higher solvent concentration resulted in higher capacity to remove CO2, however reduces the diffusivity as well as its ability to spread on the packing due to its high solvent viscosity. This has hindered the used of high viscosity solvent in the operation of conventional packed column. However, recent technology of using high frequency ultrasonic irradiation for absorption process has shown possibility to operate high viscosity solvent due to the absence of packing in the reactor. From this work, it is shown that high viscosity solvent does not affect the mass transfer performance under ultrasonic irradiation due to the presence of acoustic streaming, fountain and atomization that reduced the film resistance thus increases the diffusivity. This work has demonstrated that this technology has high flexibility of solvent selection for the absorption process.
