Authors studied 1013 first- and second degree relatives in families of 193 probands. The probands were stratified by clinical diagnosis into 6 groups: 1) nuclear variant of schizoaffective psychosis ...(SAP); 2) "marginal" (intermediate) variant of SAP; 3) schizoaffective variant of schizophrenia; 4) recurrent schizophrenia; 5) attack-like progressive schizophrenia; 6) bipolar affective disorder or manic-depressive psychosis (MDP). Probands (n=109) and their relatives were studied using the direct clinical examination; the study of 84 probands and their relatives was based on the medical records from the genetic archive of Mental Health Research Center, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Mental pathology was found in 72,5% of relatives; 27,5% were healthy. Prevalence of endogenous and non-endogenous psychoses, personality disorders and cases of alcoholism and suicides in the families of probands was studied. A "set" of these psychopathologies was similar in families of all probands and their frequency was higher than that in the general population that confirmed the affiliation of SAP with endogenous diseases by genetic characteristics. In patients with SAP, hereditary characteristics differed by the frequency, correlation and preference of some types of mental pathology compared to families of patients with schizophrenia and MDP, in particular, hereditary characteristics of patients with recurrent schizophrenia and MDP which were identified with SAP by many authors. The clinical-genetic patterns revealed in the study are considered as an argument for nosological independence of SAP.

Thyroid cancer is a common endocrine malignancy that encompasses well-differentiated as well as dedifferentiated cancer types. The latter tumors have high mortality and lack effective therapies. ...Using a paired-end RNA-sequencing approach, we report the discovery of rearrangements involving the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene in thyroid cancer. The most common of these involves a fusion between ALK and the striatin (STRN) gene, which is the result of a complex rearrangement involving the short arm of chromosome 2. STRN-ALK leads to constitutive activation of ALK kinase via dimerization mediated by the coiled-coil domain of STRN and to a kinase-dependent, thyroid-stimulating hormone-independent proliferation of thyroid cells. Moreover, expression of STRN-ALK transforms cells in vitro and induces tumor formation in nude mice. The kinase activity of STRN-ALK and the ALK-induced cell growth can be blocked by the ALK inhibitors crizotinib and TAE684. In addition to well-differentiated papillary cancer, STRN-ALK was found with a higher prevalence in poorly differentiated and anaplastic thyroid cancers, and it did not overlap with other known driver mutations in these tumors. Our data demonstrate that STRN-ALK fusion occurs in a subset of patients with highly aggressive types of thyroid cancer and provide initial evidence suggesting that it may represent a therapeutic target for these patients.

54 (HA) (molar ratio HR: HA = 1: 1−0.5) led to a substantial increase of the coefficients of nickel separation with the main contaminants (Ca and Mg). Using the mixtures of HR and HA, a technological scheme for the extractive isolation of nickel from a sulfurous solution with a high content of calcium (0.5−0.55 g/l) and magnesium (≥7 g/l) was developed. The resulting nickel concentrate was applicable for isolation by means of electrolysis or the preparation of nickel sulfate. The extraction degree was achieved at a level not less than 99.7%.
In this work, we studied lead(II) and cobalt(II) complexation of derivatives 2-B10H9O(CH2)2O(CH2)2N32− and 2-B10H9O(CH2)5N32− of the closo-decaborate anion containing pendant azido groups in the ...presence of 1,10-phenanthroline and 2,2′-bipyridyl. Mononuclear PbL2{An} and binuclear Pb2L4(NO3)2{An} lead complexes (where {An} is the N3-substituted boron cluster) were isolated and studied by IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The mononuclear lead(II) complex Pb(phen)2B10H9O(CH2)2O(CH2)2N3 and the binuclear lead(II) complex Pb2(phen)4(NO3)2B10H9O(CH2)5)N3 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In complex Pb2(phen)4(NO3)2B10H9O(CH2)5)N3, the boron cluster is coordinated by the metal atom only via the 3c2e MHB bonds. In complex Pb(phen)2B10H9O(CH2)2O(CH2)2N3, the coordination environment of the metal includes BH groups of the boron cluster and the oxygen atom of the exo-polyhedral substituent. When the reaction was performed in a CH3CN/water mixture, the binuclear lead(II) complex (Pb(bipy)NO3)(Pb(bipy)2NO3)(B10H9O(CH2)2O(CH2)2N3)·CH3CN·H2O was isolated, where the boron cluster acts as a bridging ligand between lead atoms coordinated by the boron cage via the O atoms of the substituent and/or the BH groups. In the course of cobalt(II) complexation, the starting compound (Ph4P)2B10H9O(CH2)5N3 was isolated and its structure was also determined by X-ray diffraction. Although a number of lead(II) complexes with coordinated N3 are known from the literature, no complexes with the boron cluster coordinated by the pendant N3 group involved in the metal coordination have been isolated.

Using the fast expansion method, we obtained several exact solutions of the boundary value problem for the Poisson equation in a rectangular domain. We have given graphs of exact solutions ...corresponding to different boundary conditions and different types of the Poisson equation free term. We showed the influence of the type of boundary conditions and the right-hand side on the type of exact solution. We obtained a solution to the problem of membrane deflections under the action of variable load. We have given graphs of the stress components, from the analysis of which it follows that the greatest stress is in the middle of the rectangular membrane long sides.
We examined postoperative material from 28 patients aged 39-61 years with gliomas of different degrees of anaplasia (the diagnosis was histologically verified according to the WHO classification of ...CNS tumors) who had not previously received antitumor treatment. In glioma tissue, the glucose concentration was significantly higher than in the brain tissue of subjects dead from traumas (control), while lactate concentration did not differ from that in the control group or was lower. Hexokinase activity demonstrated a tendency to an increase in grade I and significant elevation in grades II and III, while in grade IV gliomas, this parameter did not differ from the control. Activities of the pentose-phosphate pathway enzymes glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and transketolase increased with increasing of tumor anaplasia. Activity of glycogen synthase 3β kinase was significantly higher than in the control group.

mutation was discovered in 40% cases, the MGMT promoter methylation was detected in more than 50%, the Ki-67 level increased with increasing tumor anaplasia. The most significant correlations with glioma markers were detected for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and glycogen synthase 3β kinase. Activities of the studied enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism significantly correlated with Ki-67 marker.

The study of the influence of the variability of the internal source on the propagation of heat in the body at the same initial temperatures at the parallelepiped vertices was carried out. In this case, the heat in the body will be transferred only in those directions in which the internal source is changed.

The dates andmagnitudes atmaximumlight and the light-curve parameters have been determined. The color evolution, extinction, and peak luminosity of SN 2017eaw are discussed. The results of our preliminary radiation–gasdynamic simulations of its light curves with the STELLA code describe satisfactorily the

observational data.
