The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys Stål, is an invasive Pentatomidae species that causes damage to economically important agricultural crops. It originated in East Asia but has ...successfully spread to many European countries. It has been present in Croatia since 2017, and its first mass emergence was detected in a soybean field in 2019. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the occurrence and population size of H. halys in perennial crops in important fruit growing areas in Croatia. According to the monitoring data, H. halys was detected in all surveyed areas and crops (apple, apricot, cherry, fig, grapevine, pear, plum, olive, and hazelnut). The largest population size was detected for hazelnut in the locality of Tovarnik, Vukovar-Syrmia County (79 individuals), for pear in the locality of Marijanci, Osjek-Baranja County (31 individuals), and for apple in the locality of Staro Čiče, Zagreb County (25 individuals). In view of the fact that the weekly catches at some monitoring sites exceeded the established treatment threshold, control measures must be taken to prevent an increase in the population and significant damage in the future. In addition to hazelnuts, crops such as pears, apples and cherries are particularly threatened by this pest.
Alien species represent a significant component of European entomofauna. Intensive international trade of plants, particularly woody ornamentals, has increased introduction of alien species into ...Europe in the last two decades, where alien terrestrial invertebrates prevail as one of the most numerous groups of introduced organisms. As of 2010, fourteen species of alien psyllids (Hemiptera: Psylloidea) have been recorded in Europe. Five species have been reported from Croatia, including Acizzia jamatonica (Kuwayama, 1908), as the only species from genus Acizzia Heslop-Harrison, 1961 present in Croatia so far. This paper provides genus status in Croatia, with first records of Australian species Acizzia uncatoides (Ferris & Klyver, 1932) and Acizzia acaciaebaileyanae (Froggatt, 1901).
First aim of this review paper is to make the checklist of the most important phytophagous insects from the Sternorrhyncha (Hemiptera) suborder that may feed on plants from genus Citrus, Fortunella ...and Poncirus, present in the Mediterranean basin. Second aim is to compare the mentioned list with Croatian findings from relevant literature. Third aim is to separate and describe possible risk for introduction and harmfulness of the most harmful species in Croatia. In the literature review 46 species (17 aphids, 21 scale insects, 6 whiteflies and 2 psyllids) which may feed on citrus plants were found to be present in selected countries. Out of that number, 37 species (13 aphids, 18 scale insects and 6 whiteflies) are reported for Croatia. Based on their potential to cause damages, ability to spread and the vicinity of the countries in which they are found, following species if introduced could be potential threat for citrus growing areas in Croatia: Toxoptera citricida (Kirkaldy), Aonidiella citrina (Craw, 1890), Parasaissetia nigra (Nietner, 1861), Trioza erythrae (Del Guercio, 1918), Aleurothrixus flocossus (Maskell, 1896) and Parabemisia myricae (Kuwana, 1927).

Abstract
In recent years, several species of alien scale insects have arrived and spread rapidly through European and Mediterranean countries. One hundred and twenty‐nine species of alien scale ...insects have so far been recorded in Europe. This paper presents a list of alien scale insect species for Croatia, comprising 56 species from 8 different families. Four of them are new records for Croatia:
Aonidiella taxus
Leonardi, 1906,
Ichnaspis longirostris
(Signoret, 1882),
Phoenicococcus marlatii
(Cockerell, 1899) and
Spilococcus mammillariae
(Bouche, 1844). The majority of species recorded belong to the following families: Diaspididae (28 species), Coccidae (12 species), Pseudococcidae (10 species), Eriococcidae (two species). The scale insect families Dactylopidae, Margarodidae, Ortheziidae and Pheniococcidae comprised only one recorded alien species each. During the time frame covered in the review (from the beginning of the 20th century until 2015), the majority of alien scale insect species (23) were registered in the period from 2000 to 2015. Data on the origin of introduced alien scale insects shows that the majority of the species originate from Asia (22 species), followed by North America (6 species), Africa, Australia and Central America (5 species each) and South America (4 species), with 9 species being of unknown origin.
