Psihosocijalna podrška je socijalna usluga koja podrazumijeva psihosocijalnu rehabilitaciju koja potiče razvoj kognitivnih, funkcionalnih, komunikacijskih ili socijalnih vještina korisnika. Može se ...pružati individualno i u grupi. Obično se pruža kod pružatelja usluga ili u obitelji korisnika. U ovom radu prikazat ću iskustva pružanja psihosocijalne podrške roditeljima djece i mladih osoba s teškoćama u razvoju koje su pružene u raznim područjima Sisačko- moslavačke županije tijekom 2019. i 2020. godine. Također ću prikazati sažete rezultate primjene Skale kvalitete života MANSA koju su roditelji ispunjavali na početku uključivanja u ovaj oblik usluge, te godinu dana nakon pružanja iste. U ovom kratkom prikazu sudjelovalo je 45 osoba, nešto više žena (majki) nego muškaraca (očeva), a prosječna dob ispitanika bila je 37 godina. Iz dobivenih rezultata je vidljivo da su se usluge psihosocijalne podrške pozitivno reflektirale na samo-procjenu kvalitete života roditelja – osobito na česticama zadovoljstva svojim životom, kvalitetom i brojem prijateljstava i zadovoljstvom odnosima s članovima obitelji.
Psychosocial support is a social service that involves psychosocial rehabilitation that encourages the development of cognitive, functional, communicational or social skills of users. It can be ...provided individually or in a group. It is usually provided by the service provider or the user’s family. In this paper, I will present the experiences of providing psychosocial support to parents of children and young people with disabilities that were provided in various areas of Sisak-Moslavina County during 2019 and 2020. I will also present the summary results of the application of the MANSA Quality of Life Scale that parents filled at the beginning of inclusion in this form of service, and one year after the provision of the same. This short survey involved 45 people, slightly more women (mothers) than men (fathers), and the average age of the respondents was 37 years. The results show that psychosocial support services had a positive effect on self-assessment of the quality of life of parents - especially on the particles of satisfaction with their lives, quality and number of friendships and satisfaction with relationships with family members.
To explore posttraumatic stress symptoms and current psychopathology in a binational sample of Croatian and German participants with severe mental illness.
We studied 178 inpatients from the ...Greifswald University (German patients, n=89) and University Hospital Zagreb and Ivan Barbot Neuropsychiatric Hospital (Croatian patients, n=89) with either major depression (n=150), schizophrenia (n=26), or bipolar disorder (n=2). Measurements included Posttraumatic Diagnostic Scale and the Symptom Check List-90-R. Participants were matched according to age, sex, and diagnosis.
Croatians reported significantly more war traumatic events (64/82 vs 5/74, chi(2)(1)=77.142, P<0.001) and significantly more Croatians met the criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder (55/89 vs 27/89, chi(2)(1)=17.73, P<0.001). They also suffered from a higher level of psychopathological distress as they scored significantly higher at all Symptom Check List-90-R revised version subscales (P<0.001). The regression models demonstrated that predictors of general psychopathological distress were war trauma (P<0.001), posttraumatic stress disorder (P<0.001), and diagnosis (P=0.01).
This is the first study comparing the impact of war trauma on psychopathology of participants with severe mental illness between two nations. Our results clearly indicate the importance of trauma assessment in subjects with severe mental illness, particularly in post-conflict settings.
With this work we're trying to show the problem of violence in families on elderly through the picture of family and social situations of creating and continuing the violence, we're trying to define ...the most common forms of violence on elderly: molesting and ignoring, and we're showing what are the duties of the community to recognize and help the ignored and molested older people. We are also showing the facts gained from police records, and are showing the chronology of the happenings in the families where one can see that we're talking about the complicated biopsychosocial problem caused by personal experience, genetical manners, the way one was raised and by the social situation. "Dark numbers" of this problem themselves show us the size and the danger and need of direct interdisciplinary actions to stop and prevent the problem.
In modern society, adequate care for the elderly is a significant challenge for many younger generations, and for society in general. Everything becomes even more complex and uncertain when ...unforeseen life situations such as new unknown diseases and natural disasters arise. In this paper, we will present through an interdisciplinary approach, our experiences from the practice of direct work in the field related to the needs (but also opportunities and limitations) of care for elderly parents during the covid-19 pandemic and the catastrophic earthquake that affected this area (Zagreb and surroundings, Sisak-Moslavina County) from the position of adult children of elderly parents and the local community. We will present experiences through individual experiential lines from life. We have observed that elderly people with various emotional difficulties during theCOVID-19 pandemic and post-earthquake period experience heightened fears of various causation, intense re-experiencing of previous stressful and traumatic experiences. Those are triggered by the current crisis, as well as memories of various life situations. Experiences from earlier life stages that now become preoccupying thoughts and current repetitive verbal contents. All this burdens the individual and family members and makes it difficult to adapt to the new-normal situation. Therefore, providing additional support and understanding is of paramount importance.
