Precipitation strengthening is crucial for the high strength of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu (7xxx) alloys. In this study, we synthesized a novel high-Zn 7xxx Al alloy through a comprehensive two-step thermo-mechanical treatment that includes hot extrusion and hot rolling. This approach effectively mitigates casting defects caused by high Zn content and preserves a significant number of dislocations and low-angle grain boundaries. These deformation substructures, coupled with high Zn concentrations, promote the dense formation of η’ nanoprecipitates. As a result, this alloy exhibits an exceptional combination of mechanical properties, with an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 789 MPa and a tensile elongation of 9.2 %. Our findings offer innovative insights into the design of ultra-strong and ductile Al alloys for advanced engineering applications.

The orbital and epicyclic motion of test particles in general axially symmetric spacetime was investigated. We provide a general description to derive the exact analytical expressions for the fundamental frequencies, namely, Keplerian epicyclic (radial and vertical) frequencies of test particles in an arbitrary axisymmetric and stationary spacetime. The detailed derivation of the expressions for the orbital and epicyclic frequencies of test particles orbiting around the Kerr–Newman-NUT black hole is also shown.

Cell-surface markers for prospective isolation of stem cells from human skeletal muscle have been difficult to identify. Such markers would be powerful tools for studying satellite cell function ...during homeostasis and in pathogenesis of diseases such as muscular dystrophies. In this study, we show that the tetraspanin KAI/CD82 is an excellent marker for prospectively isolating stem cells from human fetal and adult skeletal muscle. Human CD82+ muscle cells robustly engraft into a mouse model of muscular dystrophy. shRNA knockdown of CD82 in myogenic cells reduces myoblast proliferation, suggesting it is functionally involved in muscle homeostasis. CD82 physically interacts with alpha7beta1 integrin (α7β1-ITG) and with α-sarcoglycan, a member of the Dystrophin-Associated Glycoprotein Complex (DAPC), both of which have been linked to muscular dystrophies. Consistently, CD82 expression is decreased in Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients. Together, these findings suggest that CD82 function may be important for muscle stem cell function in muscular disorders.

In this article, Alexander, Rozkalne, and colleagues describe the identification of CD82 as a prospective marker for human muscle stem cells. Knockdown of CD82 in myogenic cells reduces myoblast proliferation and CD82 expression is reduced in dystrophic muscle stem cells, suggesting a link with muscle disease.
Визначено, що останнім часом збільшилася кількість передчасних і непередбачуваних виходів радіальних шин з експлуатації через руйнування плечової зони і розшарувань в брекері. Оскільки ...аварійно-рятувальні автомобілі підрозділів Державної служби України з надзвичайних ситуацій постійно перебувають в оперативній готовності (весь період завантажені вогнегасними речовинами, спеціальним інструментом і спорядженням), а під час виклику рухаються з максимальними швидкостями, то і їх радіальні шини також перебувають в екстремальному режимі експлуатації. Аварійно-рятувальні автомобілі комплектуються серійними радіальними шинами. Але, по-перше, аварійно-рятувальні автомобілі значно перевищують межі режимів експлуатації, по-друге, в плині часу не виходять на нормативний пробіг шин. Отже, зовні шини мають досить глибокий рисунок протектора, але всередині у них накопичено багато дефектів, що і призводить до передчасного їх виходу з експлуатації. Автори займаються визначенням причин передчасного виходу шин з експлуатації з метою реалізації ресурсу протектора до повного зношення та підвищення надійності експлуатації шин аварійно-рятувальних автомобілів. В результаті досліджень встановлено, що наявність дефектів, як внутрішніх, так і зовнішніх, погіршує тепловідвід з каркаса і з усіх шарів шини. Ці явища призводять до непередбаченого раптового виходу шин з експлуатації. На підставі отриманих результатів пропонуються обґрунтовані пропозиції по конструкції шин аварійно-рятувальних автомобілів, а також зазначається необхідність комплектування аварійно-рятувальних автомобілів шинами спеціальної конструкції. Отримані дані являються корисними для розробників шин і важливими для підрозділів Державної служби України з надзвичайних ситуацій, оскільки дозволять значно підвищити безпеку руху аварійно-рятувальних автомобілів при слідуванні по виклику.
