The importance of innovation management is growing in the context of public policy development. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the use of public policy instruments for innovation ...and Innovation Management (IM) in the industrial sector of the state of Alagoas. Specifically, it aims to analyze the performance of industries in relation to the development of an IM methodology, examine the maturity of industrial companies in relation to IM practices, and map the public policy instruments accessed by these industries. For that purpose, exploratory and descriptive research was used, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The study was conducted with 19 (nineteen) industries participating in the IM project, with industries as research units. Regarding the results, the participation in the project and the IM methodology used enabled new practices in the studied units. It was identified that there is an indirect relationship between access to public policy instruments and IM in companies. It was also found that the project contributed to the understanding of the importance of IM. Finally, the results showed that the access of industries to public policy instruments in the nineteen companies surveyed is limited, since only three used the instruments mentioned.
A importância direcionada ao tema da gestão da inovação cresce no âmbito do desenvolvimento das políticas públicas. Este estudo tem como objetivo geral analisar a relação entre o uso de instrumentos de políticas públicas de inovação e a Gestão da Inovação (GI) no setor industrial do estado de Alagoas. Especificamente, almeja analisar o desempenho das indústrias em relação ao desenvolvimento de uma metodologia de GI, examinar a maturidade de empresas industriais quanto às práticas de GI e mapear os instrumentos de políticas públicas acessados por essas indústrias. Dessa forma, utilizou-se, quanto aos objetivos, a pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, com a abordagem qualiquantitativa. Trata-se de um estudo realizado com 19 (dezenove) indústrias participantes do projeto de GI, tendo como unidades de investigação indústrias. Sobre os resultados encontrados, a participação no projeto e a metodologia de GI utilizada possibilitou novas práticas nas unidades estudadas. Identificou-se que há uma relação indireta entre o acesso aos instrumentos de políticas públicas e a GI nas empresas. Constatou-se, ainda, que o projeto contribuiu para o entendimento da importância da GI. Por fim, os resultados apontaram que o acesso das indústrias aos instrumentos de políticas públicas, do total das dezenove empresas pesquisadas, é limitado, pois apenas três utilizaram os instrumentos mencionados.
O texto apresenta o planejamento, produção e implementação de material didático para educação online: concepção, elaboração e edição do Curso Online de Capacitação de Empresários e dos Atores do ...Sistema Alagoano de Inovação, que teve a finalidade de fortalecer o sistema local de inovação do estado, por meio da sensibilização e capacitação do empresariado nessa temática, de forma que se estabeleça o ambiente propício para o surgimento de empresas inovadoras. A capacitação contemplou a definição de conteúdos sob medida para a demanda dos empresários, bem como a construção dos objetos e do Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA).
Lung cancer remains a major global cause of mortality. While 18F-FDG PET/CT is widely utilized for detection, staging, and monitoring, detecting increased glucose metabolism in tumor cells, it lacks ...theranostic potential. The prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) tracer, initially linked to prostate cancer, is also recognized as a marker of neoangiogenesis, accumulating in various neoplasms and showing promising theranostic capabilities.
This study aims to compare the uptake patterns of 18F-FDG and 18F-PSMA in primary and metastatic lesions of non-small cell lung cancer.
Four male patients diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (including two adenocarcinomas, one squamous cell carcinoma, and one unspecified type), aged between 58 and 71 years, underwent PET/CT imaging. 18F-FDG PET/CT scans were performed 60 minutes after intravenous administration of 0.1 mCi/kg of 18F-FDG, while 18F-PSMA PET/CT scans were obtained 90 minutes after intravenous injection of 0.1 mCi/kg of 18F-PSMA. Imaging data were analyzed by two nuclear medicine physicians and one radiologist. The maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of each lesion was measured for both radiotracers in the primary tumor, lymph nodes, and metastatic sites identified through visual analysis, considering values obtained above the cardiac blood pool measured in the left atrium.
A total of 100 lesions were detected, with 82 identified using 18F-FDG and 92 using 18F-PSMA. Eight lesions were exclusively detected by 18F-FDG, while 14 were only identified by 18F-PSMA. The median SUVmax of lesions in 18F-FDG and 18F-PSMA images was 5.3 (1.7 – 25.0) and 3.7 (0.7 - 12.4), respectively. Brain lesions were more readily identified on 18F-PSMA images, whereas liver lesions were more notable on 18F-FDG images due to the intense physiological uptake of 18F-FDG and 18F-PSMA in the brain and liver, respectively.
Both 18F-FDG-PET/CT and 18F-PSMA-PET/CT have the ability to identify most lesions of non-small cell lung cancer. Although 18F-PSMA images detected a greater number of lesions, the uptake intensity is generally higher with 18F-FDG. These findings suggest that the two radiopharmaceuticals may have complementary roles in lung cancer by independently detecting lesions with higher glycolytic activity or greater neoangiogenesis, or both simultaneously, which could contribute to a more personalized approach in managing these patients. The results also suggest a possible theranostic approach in selected patients with high uptake of PSMA. Further investigations involving a larger patient cohort are essential to validate these findings.
Recently, the tracer Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), which can be labeled with the radioisotopes 68Ga or 18F, has been commercially introduced. Theoretically, as the name suggests, it is a ...substance specific to the membrane of prostate cells and prostate cancer. However, several studies have shown that it is also a marker of neoangiogenesis, leading to its uptake in various other neoplasms and benign diseases.
This study aims to evaluate the utility of radiolabeled PSMA in detecting desmoid tumors, comparing it to 18F-luorodeoxyglucose (FDG).
Three participants with a confirmed diagnosis of desmoid tumor underwent PET/CT examinations with 18F-PSMA and 18F-FDG, with a maximum interval of 3 days between examinations. Images were visually compared lesion by lesion and the maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) was calculated for each lesion and each radiopharmaceutical.
All lesions presented uptake of both 68Ga-PSMA and 18F-FDG. In the first patient, 3 lesions were identified: a mass adjacent to the pancreas measuring 5.4 cm (FDG: SUV = 2.0) (PSMA: SUV = 8.2), a mass in the right iliac fossa measuring 7.7 cm (FDG: SUV = 3.8) (PSMA: SUV = 5.7), and another involving the duodenojejunal transition measuring 4.1 cm (FDG: SUV = 1.9) (PSMA: SUV = 3.7). In the second patient, a mass was identified adjacent to the head and uncinate process of the pancreas measuring 9.2 cm (FDG: SUV = 9.8) (PSMA: SUV = 6.1). In the third patient, an irregular retroperitoneal mass was identified at the level of the aortic bifurcation (FDG: SUV = 2.3) (PSMA: SUV = 2.4).
Desmoid tumors can demonstrate uptake of both 68Ga-PSMA and 18F-FDG. The intensity of tracer uptake in the lesions is variable, with some showing greater uptake of FDG, others of PSMA, suggesting a potential complementary role for these radiotracers in desmoid tumors.
Este artigo trata das empresas de tecnologia com atuação em Maceió, em Alagoas, Brasil, priorizando sua caracterização, perfil e grau de desenvolvimento tecnológico, a participação nas incubadoras ou ...programas de aceleração e tipos de produtos/serviços desenvolvidos. O estudo é de natureza descritiva-exploratória e considerou o censo das empresas localizadas a partir de informações de duas incubadoras tecnológicas, SEBRAE/AL e de instituições de fomento e pesquisa. Realizou-se um levantamento documental e, posteriormente, um survey junto às empresas. A análise dos dados utilizou técnicas estatísticas descritivas. Os resultados apresentam especificidades do segmento como: perfil, número de empregados, pontos críticos, grau de desenvolvimento do negócio, diversificação de produtos, áreas de atuação, dentre outros. Os resultados da pesquisa apontaram que nas empresas não formalizadas, a questão da incubação, fase de estruturação do negócio e recursos financeiros são fatores limitadores. A pesquisa também identificou que cerca de 40% consideram que oferecem um produto/serviço inovador.
A large number of Brazilian zoos keep many endangered species of deer, however, very few disease surveillance studies have been conducted among captive cervids. Blood samples from 32 Brazilian deer ...(Blastocerus dichotomus, Mazama nana and Mazama americana) kept in captivity at Bela Vista Biological Sanctuary (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil) were investigated for 10 ruminant pathogens, with the aims of monitoring deer health status and evaluating any potential zoonotic risk. Deer serum samples were tested for Brucella abortus, Leptospira (23 serovars), Toxoplasma gondii, Neospora caninum, bovine viral diarrhea virus, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus, foot-and-mouth disease virus, western equine encephalitis virus, eastern equine encephalitis virus and Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus. Antibodies against T. gondii (15.6%), N. caninum (6.2%) and L. interrogans serogroup Serjoe (3.1%) were detected. The serological results for all other infectious agents were negative. The deer were considered to be clinically healthy and asymptomatic regarding any disease. Compared with studies on free-ranging deer, the prevalences of the same agents tested among the captive deer kept at the Sanctuary were lower, thus indicating good sanitary conditions and high-quality management practices at the zoo.
ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of this study was to find out the children’s profile identified as Sentinel Event in oral health by the Municipal Health Department of the city of Belo Horizonte, State of ...Minas Gerais, Brazil. Methods: A quantitative, analytical, exploratory and documentary analysis study was developed in the city of Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, involving 545 children, age ranging from zero to six years old. Sentinel event data were collected through an electronic form created in the Unified Health System and filled out by the municipal oral health teams. Information systems of the city council were consulted. The variables studied were as follows: Health Vulnerability Index, race/color, age, sex, to be beneficiary of the Bolsa Família Program (a social program sponsored by the government), to be monitored by the Strategy of the Family Health Program, to reside in the Belo Horizonte Citizenship Program area, nature of the school and region of residence. Statistical analysis was performed in the SPSS software, 20th version. Results: The results showed that the majority of children live in areas of medium and high social risk, they are five to six years old, male, dark-skinned, do not benefit from the Bolsa Família program, are not under the Strategy of the Family Health Program, do not reside in the territory of the Belo Horizonte Citizenship Program, and study in institutions of the municipal education network. The sentinel event is present in the nine regions of Belo Horizonte, with a higher prevalence in the regions of Venda Nova, Northeast, West, East and Barreiro. Conclusion: The study demonstrates the crucial importance of comprehensive social policies in order to influence oral health.
RESUMO Objetivo: Conhecer o perfil das crianças identificadas como evento sentinela em saúde bucal pela Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de Belo Horizonte. Métodos: Um estudo quantitativo, analítico, exploratório e de análise documental, foi desenvolvido em Belo Horizonte, Brasil, envolvendo 545 crianças de zero a seis anos de idade. Os dados dos eventos sentinela foram coletados por meio de um formulário eletrônico criado no Formulário do Sistema Único de Saúde e preenchido pelas equipes de saúde bucal municipais. Também foram consultados sistemas de informação da Prefeitura Municipal de Belo Horizonte. As variáveis estudadas foram: Índice de Vulnerabilidade à Saúde, raça/cor, idade, sexo, ser beneficiário do Programa Bolsa Família, ser acompanhado pela Estratégia da Saúde da Família, residir na área do Belo Horizonte Cidadania, natureza da instituição escolar e regional de residência. A análise estatística foi realizada no programa SPSS versão 20.0. Resultados: A maior parte das crianças reside em áreas de média e elevada vulnerabilidade à saúde, são pardas, têm de cinco a seis anos de idade, são do sexo masculino, não beneficiárias do Programa Bolsa família, não são acompanhadas pela Estratégia Saúde da Família, não residem em território do Programa BH cidadania e estudam em instituições próprias da rede municipal de ensino. O evento sentinela está presente em toda a cidade de Belo Horizonte, com maiores prevalências nas regionais Venda Nova, Nordeste, Oeste, Leste e Barreiro. Conclusão: O estudo demonstra como a adoção de políticas sociais abrangentes pode influenciar a situação de saúde bucal.
The objective of this research was to establish a comparison between the National System of Innovation in Germany and in Brazil based on their characteristics and articulations. It is an exploratory ...study based on qualitative approach, making use of bibliographical and documental research, participant observation, with visits to the main actors of the National System of Innovation in Brazil and Germany as well as analysis of secondary data. The results indicate that, in Germany, the characteristics of the system are: a) high levels of R&D in companies; b) worldwide levels of research institutions; c) institutionalized partnerships between companies and universities; d) high number of patent registrations; e) efficient professional education through a dual system; f) investment in education around 5,4% of the GDP; g) shared responsibility governance among different ministries in different levels of the political system; h) federal and state joint financing of research. The Brazilian system, on the other hand, can be considered complex and little diversified, formed mainly by institutions of the public sector, with emphasis in Latin America for the insertion of FINEP/FNDCT and the competitiveness of companies such as EMBRAER, PETROBRAS and EMBRAPA. The Brazilian policies to stimulate industrial competitiveness are ineffectual and inefficient, mainly because there was no intellectual capital development, only importation of equipment, which did not encompass policies turned to quality, innovation and competitiveness. These were only taken into account by the time of the commercial opening in the 90´s.
O objetivo do estudo foi realizar uma comparação com base nas características e articulações do Sistema Nacional de Inovação (SNI) da Alemanha vis-à-vis o SNI brasileiro. O estudo é exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, uso da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, da observação participante, com visita aos principais atores do SNI da Alemanha e Brasil e análise de dados secundários. Os resultados indicam que são características do SNI na Alemanha: a) alta proporção de P&D nas empresas; b) instituições de pesquisa de classe mundial; c) parcerias institucionalizadas empresas-universidades; d) elevado número em registros de patentes; e) formação profissional eficiente por meio de um sistema de ensino dual; f) investimento em educação em torno de 5,4% do PIB; g) estrutura de governança com responsabilidades partilhadas entre diferentes ministérios em diferentes níveis do sistema político e h) financiamento conjunto dos governos federal e estaduais para pesquisa. Por sua vez, o SNI brasileiro pode ser considerado complexo e pouco diversificado, composto, principalmente por instituições do setor público, sendo destaque na América Latina a inserção da FINEP/FNDCT, bem como a competitividade de empresas como a EMBRAER, Petrobrás e EMBRAPA. Como tal, as políticas brasileiras de estímulo à competitividade industrial se mostraram débeis e ineficazes, principalmente porque não ocorreu desenvolvimento do capital intelectual, mas apenas de importação de equipamentos que se distanciavam de um pensamento orientados à qualidade, inovação e competividade, já que esses temas só entraram em pauta com a abertura comercial da década de noventa.
The economic performance of regions is increasingly associated with the shaping of innovation systems and the intensity and effectiveness of interactions between different Science and Technology ...Institutions (ICTs) in the generation and diffusion of new knowledge and technologies. The general objective of the study is to analyze the best practices of ICTs in innovation systems (Spain, Mexico, South Korea and Germany). Specifically: a) it intends to draw a comparison with Brazil, seeking premises related to the productive and innovative subsystems, governmental, cultural, industrial, science and technology and b) to show the implications in the advancement of studies in the National System of Innovation (NIS) and regional development policies. In terms of methodological procedures, a descriptive research was carried out from the point of view of its objectives. From the point of view of the problem approach, a qualitative research was made. In addition, research on technical procedures is characterized as a bibliographical research, such as participatory research and documentary research, using as benchmarking techniques the observation of ICTs actors from Brazil in international missions in Spain, Mexico, Germany and South Korea. The results describe the mechanisms for fostering innovation as best practices in these countries and the best understanding of the specificities of each system. Summarizing, it is possible to affirm that analyzes of the best practices of innovation systems and their ICTs in Spain, Mexico, Germany and South Korea can inspire actions for innovation in the target regions of the Regional Innovation System (SRI) Program in Brazil. Thus, practical and scientific contributions point out the implications of ICTs in the process of strengthening regional innovation systems. In addition, the contacts established during the missions, as well as all the support material produced, will enable States to continue their assessments of the replicability of innovation instruments in the light of their local specificities.
O desempenho econômico das regiões está cada vez mais associado à conformação dos sistemas de inovação e à intensidade e à eficácia das interações entre as diferentes Instituições de Ciência e Tecnologia (ICTs), na geração e difusão de novos conhecimentos e tecnologias. O objetivo geral do estudo é analisar as melhores práticas das ICTs nos sistemas de inovação (Espanha, México, Coreia do Sul e Alemanha). De forma específica: a) pretende-se realizar uma comparação com o Brasil, buscando premissas relacionadas aos subsistemas produtivo e inovativo, governamental, cultural, industrial e de ciência e tecnologia (C&T) e b) apresentar implicações no avanço de estudos em Sistema Nacional de Inovação (SNI) e políticas de desenvolvimento regional. Em termos de procedimentos metodológicos, foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva do ponto de vista de seus objetivos. Sob o ponto de vista da abordagem do problema, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa. Além disso, a pesquisa em relação aos procedimentos técnicos se caracteriza como pesquisa bibliográfica, como pesquisa participante e pesquisa documental, utilizando como técnicas de pesquisa a realização de benchmarking por meio da observação de atores de ICTs do Brasil em missões internacionais na Espanha, México, Alemanha e Coreia do Sul. Como resultados, descrevem-se os mecanismos de fomento à inovação como melhores práticas nesses países e o melhor entendimento das especificidades de cada sistema. Em suma, é possível afirmar que as análises das melhores práticas dos sistemas de inovação e suas ICTs na Espanha, México, Alemanha e Coreia do Sul podem inspirar ações em prol da inovação nas regiões alvo do Programa Sistema Regional de Inovação (SRI) no Brasil. Assim, as contribuições práticas e científicas apontam implicações das ICTs no processo de fortalecimento dos sistemas regionais de inovação. Ademais, os contatos estabelecidos durante as missões, assim como todo o material de apoio produzido, permitirão aos Estados a continuidade em suas avaliações sobre a replicabilidade dos instrumentos de inovação à luz de suas especificidades locais.
